CharlesLewis -BIGWHITESEXY - FUCK YEAH!!! THANKS DA. No. However, the writers can say that Unit is influencing Scott's mind. (And really, if the x-men have a brig -- which they do --- maybe Tony hacking Utopia's security is a very "bad" idea) Scott doesn't look "good" here, but the Avengers don't either. Take this latest issue and let me play devil's advocate a bit. You have Tony claiming the Avengers aren't there to arrest Hope, which is utter and complete rubbish. That's exactly what the Avengers intend to do, take Hope into custody and then launch her off planet earth - in violation of who knows how many rights and laws. You also have Black Panther acting all butt-hurt because Hope has the potential to be the host of the Phoenix force - which is different from being capable of destroying the planet. Really? 1. There's a 1/2 dozen mutants on Utopia that have already chaneled the Phoenix force - some for a very long time (Rachel) and it wasn't an issue then why is it one now? 2. Who's on the Avengers? How many of them can destroy the planet?...frakin' hypocrite 3. Who's the former Avenger who effectively exterminated the mutant race? Where were the Avengers then and what did they do about it? Seriously, I thought Tony and T'challa were supposed to be smart. Put a gun to my head and I'll admit that I don't see Cap acting this way. I feel Cap would have called/visited Utopia by himself and offering anything the Avengers could do to help and only calling in the Avengers if/when Scott told Cap to f*ck off. |

Something of this scope is hard to write; I'm sure it's tough, but one point. Luke Cage has nothing on Namor. WTF was the deal with trading punch for punch? Overall, I'm enjoying this... |

Cage and/or Thing putting their hands on Namor IN WATER is completely retarded. On land it would be even. In water? Fucking hell. |

Hemlock - Cage and/or Thing putting their hands on Namor IN WATER is completely retarded. +1 IIRC NAMOR IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO SWIM AT SUPER SONIC SPEEDS. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN BE ABLE TO TOUCH HIM. |

Another .... issue. Utopia has a boat load of telepaths, like the Stepford Cuckoos who have also hosted the Phoenix force. Taking out Emma isn't going to stop the x-men from telepathically stomping everyone. |

It may be the Secret Wars 2 of it's era, or it may get good. I will give it a chance. |

And I've been following Thor and the avengers books since Fear Itself and i still don't understand how they handled Thor "dying" from the Serpent. he died differently in his book and came back but has there been any mention of how the avengers perceive him returning? Wtf. |

I wanted so bad for this to be awesome. So much wrong with the group battle, with the biggest mistake being Namor not taking out most of the Avengers that fell in the water before they ever had a chance to reach the shore. Nobody was really playing for keeps though so I'll give them a pass for now in good faith that the individual battles will make up for it. |

Where is professor X? Don't you think he would dial up scott and say something along the lines of: Hey dumb shit why are you deciding to worship this uncontrollable force that has been killing planets on it's entire journey here and that your ex wife killed herself to contain. Why isn't Emma wondering why her husband is so caught up in his ex wife that he's willing to risk the entire planet on a hunch? The only thing about this story that hasn't been stupid was that wolverine issue. |

He and Scott haven't been on good speaking terms for a while now. re: Emma Emma and Scott aren't married (unfortunately). I really, really like the Emma/Scott relationship but I don't like the way writers have been treating it. Emma and Scott have had a number of conversations about the potential damage that keeping secrets from each other can do (that is one of the big reasons why Jean/Scott ended). Also, Emma is far to tough and far too intelligent to take Scott's sh!t. The only thing that makes sense to me at this point, is that Emma is not going to publically oppose Scott --- but she should definately confront him in private, like she has in the past. Emma is frakin' bankrolling Utopia at this point - she literally puts food on the table, etc... She shouldn't be kept in the dark. |

I just cannot get over how awful those narrative bits are in the A vs X book. "Fourth broken nose in eight minutes" Seriously? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea. And Wolverine after decades of fighting alongside the X Men turns on them? Sure, I buy that. |

Who the fuck thought that was a good idea. re: fourth broken nose Agreed. Although the bad writing (which is awful) wasn't as bad as Hope's actions for me. Hope has been accused of manipulating the feelings of others to the point where one of her teammates tried to kill her. After the kumbaya moment in Generation Hope #17, she reacts to something she doesn't like by breaking someone's nose and (I guess) beating the sh!t out of everyone. Seriously, why should I like the character at this point? re: Wolverine I'm....conflicted. Wolverine has told Hope before that if she's a threat to others, he will kill her. When Wolverine encounters Hope, she clearly chaneling the Phoenix. I don't really like it, but I can see a argument for Wolverine's actions being consistent in the past. I mean Wolverine nearly killed Rachel in the past as well. |

I was not aware of hope's background as much Paw. So I didn't catch that her actions were so out of character or that she and Wolvie had a past. Honestly when I saw another red headed Sommer's relative/wife/love interest I avoided her as much as possible. I hated the original phoenix story line and all of it's bastard, ill defined, lame plot device children. |

Wolverine and Hope had already discussed what would happen if she lost control, she agreed that he should kill her. |

Who the fuck thought that was a good idea. After the blowup Wolverine and Scott had I could see that wolverine would jump into the fight on the Avengers side. He believes that scott is in the wrong, and Wolverine is always the first to volunteer to do someone in if he feels he is in the wrong. He heads up X-Force, the mutant death squad. |

Lately heroes have amnesia or roid rage because whenever there is a slight problem they just resort to fighting and killing each other instead of talking things out with friends and family they've trusted and worked with for years. Oh a school bus full of kids got blown up? Choose sides and have a superhero civil war where we jail, kill and hunt each other. Some gremlin looking guy tells cable the Avengers killed Hope? Go back in time and kill the Avengers without questioning why a guy like Captain america would want to kill Hope. Phoenix is on the way to earth and has killed billions, destroyed planets and corrupted and consumed your exes and family members? Time to look on it as the mutant savior and fight the Avengers and teammates you have trusted for years. Of course a comic where both sides sat down for tea, debated the problem and arrived at an amicable decision doesn't really sound too exciting. |

Thanks for posting DA. Do we happen to know if the AvX: Versus books are out? I saw on newsarama.com a preview of Cap vs Gambit and Spidey vs Juggerlossus, and Namor smacking Thing out of the ocean. |
