As a follow up to my other thread, and since all elbows do is cause cut stoppages and I and everyone other red blooded, TRUE mma fan wants to see them banned, I figured a thread filled with all the examples of what a barbaric, unskilled maneuver it is (sorry to steal your words Dr. Johnnie) will help GET THEM BANNED FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Barbaric? Maybe. Unskilled? Definitely not. There's an art to throwing them well. Personally, I think MMA would lose something if they outlawed elbows. |

I love how you say all they do is cause cuts and rob the fans yet you post gifs of four legit elbow stoppages where the damage of the strike is what leads to the finish and no one gets cut.. fascinating

Actually I agree. Pride rules > UFC rules. Rather see knees on the ground than elbows. Have a completely different effect

I think the argument was against elbows on the ground but it was a stupid argument. Amazing that fighters like Bas Rutten and Pat Miletich supported this into a rule.
