JudOWNED - They didn't spend enough time setting it up that Billy is "really a good kid underneath". They also didn't articulate the Wizards choice very well either. Came across as, "I've spent eons searching for the pure in heart! What? A 10 year old tells me there is no one pure at heart? Oh well. You'll do just as good as any, then! SHAZAM!" It reeked of Kyle Rayner's old "You'll have to do." origin. I think Billy is 15 now. Not 10. |

Thanks DA. Seems like Johns, et al are just mailing it in at this point and really not thinking straight. So, Cheetah is strong enough to bite through Superman's skin and as fast (or faster) than the flash? |

I guess they tried to explain how Cheetah is so strong by making her a "goddess." But still, it seems like whenever people fight in this comic they look the same. Despite their greatly disparate power sets, every fight is just trading punches, someone gets thrown into something else, etc. Doesn't matter if it's "I can bench press the earth"-man or "I have no powers at all"-man. It's still punch-punch-kick-someone gets thrown into a car. I actually like the art, though. |

This might arguably be the most disappointing regular title of 2012. I'm a pretty big JL fanboi but this stuff is just bad. Still not sure how they're explaining the time line disparity between Hal being captured with Sinestro and being in this title with no noticeable connection to anything else in the GL books. |
