Is there anyone who posts here on the HG who is not Christian, Jewish, or an atheist? |

I think "post-Christian nihilist" might be a category of poster as well. This would be a person who thinks the right to choose the story one lives by is more important than the story itself. |

We used to get a spiritist, at least one Muslim, we had martial_shadow transitioning from an orthodox judaism (small "o" maybe?) to something like a pantheism; we've had Asatru people. It's certainly shrunk. |

Born/raised christian - but i have grown closer to becoming a spiritualist as of late. I like to believe that i walk away with the good parts of both. As long as you believe in something positive and promote love and living happy, you should be okay in the end of this life.

TheRealMrBeefy - Born/raised christian - but i have grown closer to becoming a spiritualist as of late. By spiritualist, do you mean spiritualist as in the Fox sisters and mediumship type of spiritualist, or do you mean more generally 'spiritual but not religious?' |

Grakman -Interesting question. I would say that i still have christian beliefs, but recently i have started to put more stock into the spiritual world, meaning life continues on after our current existences. I was once a skeptic when it came to mediumship and communicating with the afterlife/spirit world, but now i think that it is real and possible to do. I am not against religion itself, but rather i think religion as a whole is primarily "man made" and it basicly varies between different cultures and ways of life around the world. There certainly is nothing wrong with religion, but these days i am more interested in spiritualism, and the actual purpose of our lives and why we are here, and what we are supposed to be accomplishing while living this life.TheRealMrBeefy - Born/raised christian - but i have grown closer to becoming a spiritualist as of late. I don't know if I answered your question, but i tried. At the end of the day i just want to make sure i make a positive impact on the world around me through living a meaningful life while spreading love and happiness. Any religion that preaches hate and judgement upon others for not sharing the same beliefs is wrong and i really am tired of trying to figure out who is "right" and who is going to hell/heaven. In the end we all go to "heaven" regardless of what your beliefs are.

Well said Mr. Beefy. I took your answer to mean that you are both a 'spiritualist' and 'spiritual.' I would add that I think our conduct counts for something; not what we believe but how we treat other people, what's in our hearts. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God. I think I read that somewhere... |

I'm an Ex-Christian and current seeker of truth beyond the barriers of popular and fundamental religion. If God is real, he cannot be contained and defined by a book. The truth is out there. |
