Ch. 4 Jail Frank goes on to say he wasn’t scared of being sent to jail. The cellmate he ended up with was formerly a successful business man whose marriage had fallen apart so he allegedly beat his wife to death with a telephone. The man claimed his innocence and blamed it on the Prozac he had been prescribed. Frank entered a plea agreement that landed him in California Youth Authority. While in CYA his wife began to visit him with their son, and they soon rekindled their relationship. He goes on to say that he underestimated what to expect at CYA. He described it as hell and said he felt unsafe, unlike his times in JDC. He claimed his fucked up background was nothing compared to the other guys in CYA. The gangs were deep and he felt out of his element. He wanted out because knew of he stayed he’d get sucked into that lifestyle. Off drugs now, but still locked up he kept developing his relationship with his wife Christy and their son Frankie via letters. There was no visitation and no way to make money to send home in CYA, so he knew he wanted out. He considered being reclassified as an adult and sent to an adult prison. Because he was rather young and good looking the counselor tried to talk him out of it. Frank describes one last incident he had before being shipped off to prison. On chili night in the mess hall an older biker type approach Frank said the chili was his. Frank handed it over and reached for another bowl and the man said it was also his. Frank saw where this was going so he threw a bowl of chili in the guy’s face and started beating him in the head with a metal tray. The biker guy didn’t back down and threw Frank onto the ground, so Frank responded by upper cutting the man in the balls. A guard intervened and broke the fight and no one ever messed with Frank again. He was then transferred to an adult induction prison, a transitional place, complete with orange jumpsuit. He said the vibe was tense, sad, and everyone seemed to move slowly. An old timer filled him in on the racial breakdown of prison and who had the power. Frank was lumped in with the “others”, the Indians, Asians, etc. He made it through his 45 days there without incident. He was eventually sent to a real prison in Corcoran. He said that Charles Manson was in the yard next to his. He got a job bending sheet metal making .11 cents an hour. He eventually was transferred to the kitchen where he made a little more money that could be sent home. He soon found out there was no short cut to get out of prison, so he made the best of his time there by taking classes. His wife eventually stopped writing him and there was no visitation. He found out from a guy at Shamrock’s ranch that she had got pregnant by another guy, but that didn’t seem to sway his feelings towards her. She started writing again and sending photos of Frankie. Frank took up working out at Shamrock’s ranch and was pretty good at it, so he trained a lot of the other inmates while in prison. He would still periodically get into fights. On one particular night, when the “others” had control of the TV, the black changed the channel to In Living Color. A ticked off Frank filled his pockets with sharpened pencils and grabbed a mop handle. He went back and started clubbing guys and stabbing them with pencils, but since there were 8 of them his stand didn’t last long. The guards eventually broke it up, but he got 2 months in solitary for the incident because he wouldn’t rat out what had gone down. He was let out after a month because one of the “others” filled the guards in on what happened. Frank was concerned though that he’d be looked at as a snitch and he started receiving death threats. Frank started looking ahead to getting out and was coming up with a plan on what he was going to do. He thought he’d like to become an entertainer. Since his body was fairly well developed and he had no discernible talent, he thought he’d use his body to become a stripper and if that didn’t work out he’d become a fighter. He was 21 years old, freed from prison on 4/5/94 after serving 3 and ½ years and paroled out to Bob Shamrock’s. Bob encouraged him to stay out of trouble and take classes. He also advised him to start training with one of his formers campers and his adopted son, Ken Shamrock. Ken was a professional wrestler and he had a gym in Lodi called the Lion’s Den that Bob wanted Frank to train at. |

Dongbar - Just to clarify two points. Although Frank said he messed around with his sister's, he goes on to say later in Ch.3 that Christy, the girl he got pregnant, was also the first girl he had sex with. Also, the counselor that blew him was male. i guess this explains why he got into mma |

Has anyone gotten to the part where Frank's mis mother left his real father for his best friend after she found out he and his dad were gay lovers and pedophiles? Then his mother left THAT guy when she found out he was molesting one of Frank's sisters. But the guy had already knocked her up with Suzy (Frank's little sister). And his father ended up going to prison for sex crimes. I feel really sorry for Frank:(

UGCTT_EnderTL -Hessian -I would never have bought the book but am considering it now.UGCTT_LnPninja - Thus is life, being wrong can be a daily thing. Although I do not agree with select books being discussed and others are off limits. People put lots of time into books and it is a shame that everything is laid out for free. Sam Sheridan has a new book coming out, will it be acceptable to wreck all of his time and effort as well? A overview is one thing but when you recap everything in every chapter you might as well go to Frank's house and steal everything in his sock drawer. |

I would have never considered buying the book until clicking on this thread. OP is the best possible marketer for Frank's book--makes it sound wildly interesting instead of just another boring MMA book. Things need to be marketed differently now. Frank should come on the UG and thank Dongbar for getting people interested in his book |
