Still only three losses, though. Can't believe he got subbed twice in his last four bouts by two guys who haven't even been training as long as he's been a black belt. I think the weight cut was rough for him in the Benevidez fight. |

The 135 weight class was not for him! cutting to that weight was very difficult but made the weight! It did hinder the usual Waggney performance that we are use to. But now back at 145 and making his training camp with the Nova Uniao Brazil we have to see what happens!!! WARRRRRR WAG!!! |

Why has he been away for so long? Injured? Visa issues? |

He had to pull out of Bellator 60 for an injury. "Wagnney Fabiano scratches, Mike Corey takes tourney slot at Bellator 60 by Dann Stupp on Mar 01, 2012 at 12:20 pm ET An undisclosed injury has forced Wagnney Fabiano (14-3 MMA, 0-0 BFC) out of Bellator's season-six featherweight tournament, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with event sources. His opponent, Ronnie Mann (21-4-1 MMA, 3-1 BFC), now meets replacement Mike Corey (11-2-1 MMA, 0-0-1 BFC) in their opening-round matchup." ... |

Wagnney's a super solid fighter that's done a lot in the past with far from ideal circumstances but like just about every fighter just gears up and makes that walk to the cage win lose or draw. i'm no fortune teller or anything but you can bet he will be sharper than ever having been training at N.U. home base in prep for this coming fight.. |

As Mr. Patrick stated Wagnney has done a lot " . . . with far from ideal circumstances . . . " We wish him, of course, all the best! At 145 lbs and training at Nova surface zero, it is not unreasonable to expect the gritty Brazilian to again reveal why he has garnered such respect. |

145lbs looks like a far better home for him. He looked gaunt at 135. How he made it is beyond me. I think that if he started with some smaler fights at 145 and shook off the ring rust and started to build a record at that weight after the time off he'd do well for himself. (Don't get me wrong, at 14-3 he has a great record) I hope that he makes a run at something but builds to it in a fashion that doesn't cost him by jumping in too deep right away. his age is a factor but his talen might allow him to build nicely and his connections might allow him to take it pretty far. my 2 cents. |

now it aint often ill come online and say I told ya SO... but I TOLD YOU SO :)
wag's not an average level grappler/fighter far far above the regular black belt you see so common today so its easy to doubt him if you don't look at circumstances
not to chat up the mans business but im sure he wont mind a bit... but i meet him like 12 years ago the guy new to the country and was working nights to make ends meet +drinking 10 pepsi's a day to have energy to waltz in and clean the floor with everyone in class..
goes and fight a few times in ucc like that and peope are like ahh he aint that good.... im thinking ahh his setup aint that good..
flash forward to ifl times.. not my mans regular money in a salary form to train and consistent fights... He wins the belt and goes undefeated in his division..
no ones invinsible but training at home in brazil in nova head camp which is packed with great fighters it will take far from the average fighter to beat wagneyy..
told ya so
:)
