According to Luiz Cane's manager Alex Davis, Cane has been released from the UFC following his recent unanimous decision loss to Chris Camozzi at UFC 153. http://fiveknuckles.com/mma-news/Luis-Cane-released-from-the-UFC.html |

There was a time when he looked like he could do big things in the UFC. |

Out from the sport for over a year, debuting in a new weight class and gets cut after his 1 loss at his new weight? Wow. |

People thought he was gonna be a title contender prior to the Lil Nog fight. Always wondered if he had eye issues, it seemed like he couldn't even see punches coming from Southpaws

I never enjoy hearing this type of news, especially when the said fighter had a lot of potential. |

Man i like Cane but he just seemed to lose his mojo. I hope he starts killing again on the regional circuit and comes back strong. |

sucks, but at least we won't have to hear goldie and rogan butchering the pronunciation of his name... |

epwar - Yeah. Not cool. Maybe Bellator or One will give him a shot. At 185 and making sure he has the gas I think he can meet the potential everyone saw for him at 205. |

no surprize. Honestly I was surprized when he didn't get cut after the Stanislav fight. |

Cane of course is one of the 23 current or former UFC light-heavyweights to have moved down to middleweight over the past five years. Guess it didn't work out for him. |

epwar - He's 1-5 since Cantwell. I'm surprised they even gave him a shot at another weight before cutting him. Certainly not the norm. Wish him the best.

Remember after Shogun destroyed then #5 ranked Chuck, people said that he should be fighting Luis Cane for a title shot, not Machida. LMAO if that fight had happened.

Not surprised. He looked very hesitant in Rio. |
