Didn't read every post MDs in general are against cutting weight and especially when it comes to women. Yo-yo dieting, excessive caffeine intake, depriving oneself of fluids, or whatever else a fighter might do to cut weight is not something doctors will give you the green light on. She could have went to a pediatrician and got the same answer. Walk into your general care doctor's office and ask them about cutting weight. You'll get the same answer, you don't need a health problem to be advised against it. She probably saw a random cardiologist. If she had a severe heart problem it would have been caught by now in Strikeforce. If she recently developed one chances are the roids didn't/won't help. If she actually cared about having a normal family life and kids she wouldn't have given herself a clit-penis and an adam's apple in the name of athletic performance. |

Ryann Von Doom -
All of those Invicta 135 pounders are already under contract with Zuffa/Forza. They aren't tied up at all.
The real question is will the UFC keep the female fighters busy, and if not, will they continue to loan them out to Invicta? |

Another thing to keep in mind she got busted using roids against Hiroko Yamanaka. A fight she probably could have won blind folded with an arm tied around her back. She risked her health and career for that total mismatch of a fight, but refuses to diet 10lbs while off the juice. Just lol. |

Cyborg is one of my favorite fighters, but it is BS that she can't make 135. |

She cuts to make 145. She has almost zero body fat at 145. She'd have to go no roids while removing a good chunk of the calories and protein she is used to. Pretty much turn her training into a cardio exercise. Unless she started this process right after she got busted I can't see her having a whole lot of energy at 135. It's her fault without question but we are assuming that once you quit roids you instantly shrink back to normal size.

Everyone has the right idea except for Marcus Renato the contrarian troll and Ryann Von Doom, who is evidently retarded. Not the first time...

Heel Hooker - Incredible that so many of you know more tahn cyborg and her Md. I'm guessing you're all just taking breaks from seeing patients to post here. Know what I know how to spot? Bullshit. Maybe cutting the weight with her current body composition is dangerous, so you lose a little muscle. Not rocket science. The UFC has initiated a 135 lb women's division, NOT a 145 lb. Your move, Cyborg. |

Forrest Spliffn - She cuts to make 145. I don't think she should cut to 135, 145 is where she is stongest, but she should not make excuses that it will be unhealthy for her to cut to 135. There are men that fight at 135. She could adjust to the new weight class if she does it the right way. |

I am a Cyborg fan but this is nonsense, if by cut the doctor means water weight then I obviously agree, but nothing prevents her from dieting down to 145lbs and then cut to 135 lbs. She's only 5'8". |

Steve4192 - If that doctor is even a real doctor this is for sure what he has said. Yeah, it would probably be a huge deal to stay the same mass and then cut that weight before a fight by dehydration. I don't know what her walk-around weight is but the necessary cut may be too big a percentage of her bodyweight. Obvious. She has the muscle of a bodybuilder. Having large muscle mass is not dangerous in itself, but on the other hand it is not the least bit dangerous to lose some of it either. There are early pictures of her where she can be seen showing a very normal physique so the muscle have been gained by training, she is no genetic giant. If you are huge by nature it can actually be difficult to lose muscle but for her it would probably only take a diet (stay off proteins and the usual bodybuilding regimen) and to stay away from the weights. 8 months of technique, drills and sparring and she would shrink like a grape in the sun. Also obvious. Hardly anyone believes her, how is it possible that she does not get this? Is she surrounded by an army of yes-men? Of course she wants to be the champion and losing her strength advantage would make it really difficult for her to beat Ronda but she has a golden opportunity of being a part of a blockbuster fight and have a UFC career, just bloody lick it up and accept the circumstances. Or go pummel girls in Invicta twice a year for 8K a fight. Woman up and make the right choice for fucks sake..... |

Out To Lunch -Forrest Spliffn - She cuts to make 145. I think she's afraid to lose muscle mass and strength because she's used to rely on them and she might not be all that confident about her skills without her brutal strength |

OTT78 -Out To Lunch -Forrest Spliffn - She cuts to make 145. Too bad there is no one for her to fight at her best weight. Brutal strength is part of her game. If she drops down to 135, we wouldn't be seeing the best Cyborg. |

It is kinda funny that the doc says, "135? Absolutely not! Much too dangerous and detrimental to your health. What's that? 145 you ask? Oh, that's no problem."

Based on her current build and muscle tone I am not surprised to hear this at all. However, if she really wanted to go down to 135lbs I don't see why she couldn't change up her training and lose some of that muscle. That would be a perfectly safe way to cut weight, but just losing water or body fat with how she is built now would of course be dangerous. I don't think anyone would really debate that. |

This is the funniest MMA shit I have read in a while. Almost as funny as Melvin G. testing positive for cocaine. Almost. She really does not want to drop that weight. Since her success is partly based around her power, I don't blame her but really a drs. note? And this is after someone slipped the insanely muscular powerful person enough winstrol to test positive? Her excuses are pretty funny. She needs to wake up and smell the roses she could buy with UFC PPV money before it's too late. |

I think she or her camp must have given the doctor some "incentive" to make that call. As one poster said, males make 135 at her height.

So the biggest MMA promotion on the planet is going to make their first women's division. A 135lb division which has some talent to bring to get it rolling. People think it would be a smart move to have their most marketable female fighter and champion fight a KNOWN juicer who doesn't give a shit about the division? How does that make any sense? I think Ronda could win, BUT if she loses it's gone! There no legitimacy to the UFC female division. The only thing to gain by having Ronda fight this ape is some extra PPV buys. You're risking losing your most marketable fighter to someone who is a known cheater! You don't do the super fight. If Cyborg wants to make 135 and fight CLEAN in the division then that's fine. You do not appease her and risk losing the credibility the womens division has. This division in UFC can really bring womens MMA to the front. |

Out To Lunch -OTT78 -Out To Lunch -Forrest Spliffn - She cuts to make 145. Any female who powerbombs Tito Ortiz can lose 10lbs of muscle and still be freakishly stronger than most women. She would be fine at 135. She just doesn't want to change anything. Her routine worked perfectly until she fucked up her dosing. |

Whambo - I had no idea she's only 27, she looks at least 35. It's okay. I thought she was Wanderlei until a few days ago. |
