A vs X - 'Consequences' followed the main story. It was pretty good and explains it. Check the last couple of pages of the thread.

Really?

Maybe someone will kill 1960s Scott, and prevent everything that's happened from happening, thereby wiping AvX from our memories!

I LIKE IT!

I hate time travel stuff, but for some reason I really want to see this conversation play out. If it was so easy to time travel, couldn't Beast end every confrontation before it ever began?

So the madness of AvX, where everyone acts out of character, continues...

Iceman is a little out of character but I don't see anyone else out of character.

Iceman is a little out of character but I don't see anyone else out of character.

From my perspective:

Kitty is out of character.  She's one of the smarter, more level-headed x-men.  I think her position is, essentially accurate, but I don't see her flying off the handle (ie, oh noes!  the government may shut us down)

Beast's motive is that he's dying because of another mutation (tertiary?) that he just noticed and isn't going to say anything to anyone who could help him(um...Avengers?) so he's willing to risk the million and one time paradoxes and travel back in time (how, by the way) just because he doesn't like that Scott is rescuing mutants.  That doesn't sound like Henry at all to me.

Storm rings true to me...but she needs to STFD and STFU.  She has no right to play the "holier than thou" card given her actions in Astonishing X-Men where she's been lying to her teammates, lying to Scott and withholding information because she doesn't want to share.  Let me go on record: T'challa was right to kick her to the curb.

....and yet, with all that said, I'm still very interested in seeing how this plays out.  I think I shot my mouth off and gave this title 12 issues tops, but I believe I'll be eating crow, because this just might have potential.

Kitty's character is in keeping with the issues the school has had in Wolverine and the X-Men when the school people threatened to shut them down. She's become the head-mistress of the school and her character in that series has been a stressed one. I can see her being focused on the school to the point that she worries how these things will affect it.

Beast has been pissed at Scott since Scott left him to be tortured while he got his plans together. He's been anti-Scott and everything Scott does ever since. I think Beast hates Scott more than any other mutant does.

I like this. I think this needs to happen. Characters need to change, to get shaken up, to have everything turned on their heads.

These characters have been around for decades, at this point in time there isn't much room left for character development. So it makes sense to change dynamics, to do something to cause characters to act differently.

In this case they're going to act out of character, because the man they respected and looked to as a leader just formed the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Wasn't Beast's Mutation into his furry state because he experimented on himself [hoping to find a cure?] did they retcon that?

Time travel ability from out of nowhere did seem pretty convenient, but I'm guessing it'll be revealed as something he salvaged from Bishop or Cable's equipment.

Oh well.

re: Kitty

I agree she's stressed, but I don't see her reacting in the manner she did "oh my cod, i'm gonna just cry"....maybe it's the art.

good observation.

re: Beast furry state - that was due to experimentation.  That hasn't been retconned.

What was added was a more cat-like appearance, which was deemed a secondary mutation (much like Emma's ability to transform into a diamond form).  This issue has introduced another mutation for Beast, which seems to be killing him

LOL....have you seen the "Wanda" meme?  I think it started on the CBR boards, where they've inserted that Wanda prancing image into all sorts of horrible sh!t.

Haha! I guess I just glossed over the art while reading it. I just looked back and saw that panel. Man, it does look like she's freaking out a bit too emotionally.

I think it's just bad art there. Haha!
