He already did that a bunch of times.

Its "what have you done lately" that matters. With him wanting to take off practically until the end of next year, for the sake of arguement say he defends in dec 2013.

That would put him at 2 title defenses in 2 years 4 months. Thats including his "end of year" estimate.

He doesn't want to fight at 185. All he wants is that big pay day vs GSP because GSP can draw. Anderson can't unless its in Brazil. So he needs that fight for that pay day.

Problem with this is he just manhandled a much bigger fight at 205...and he wants to fight a guy whose never fought above 170?

Thats bush.

All you hear him talk about is gsp this, gsp that. If he has no more interest in fighting at 185, when there are contenders there, then he should just drop his belt, move up to 205 and go thru the ranks ( lately though, what ranks? ) and fight Jones there for his "super fight" big pay day.

All you hear him talk about is GSP because he is hyping the fight. He assumes that is his next fight. It makes sense to hype it. The UFC wants that thing to be huge. Cowboys Stadium huge. He is doing his job (well, Dana's job), and he is telling you that.

He has done a ton at 185. He isn't getting any younger, and he is giving the fans a fight they have been asking for for a long time.
