FX is pretty lenient when it comes to comedy. They let comedians on their network get away with a lot. They are also pretty lenient when it comes to sex jokes. Hell, one of the primary characters on Sons of Anarchy is a necrophiliac and they recently had an episode where he was openly lusting after a fully-equipped tranny.

If Joe had cracked that joke on FOX, it would have been a shit storm, but on FX it will probably be a non-issue.
