Fuck yeah.

Gained a LOT of respect for GSP for this fight, he was agressive, he put himself in danger, he brought the fucking fight to Carlos Condit.

Was and am always impressed with Condit, he is an animal, but I was immensely impressed with GSP. It was a fucking bloodbath, and GSP came back to be dominant. Holy shit, great fight. Phone Post

Shows the humility of GSP. He's right, he doesn't possess the abilities of said fighters. But he gets the job done time after time after time....
And he's been doin it for years.
MAD, MAD respect for GSP! Phone Post

GSP stated in the same interview that " it's mixed martial arts and you have to train in everything." I'm para- phrasing.
He's very good at everything, maybe not the best at anything, but that's his point. Phone Post

tjmitchiscool -  I'm seeing a lot of doubt from GSP lately...a year ago everyone would agree that he was the best athlete, the best mma wrestler...now even he doesn't believe it Phone Post

this is also what i got from that qoute.

gsp has the best combination of striking and wrestling in the game imo. but its a mental block he has that is holding him back and now hes making excuses. hes just never really recovered from that serra fight the old gsp was a cold killer now hes just a blanket

Et toi.

GSP isn't a better wrestler than Chael Sonnen.

He isn't a better striker than Anderson.

Those are facts.

But there's NO doubt in his mind that he will win fights. Because he knows he is smart, he knows how to use and refine the tools he has. I think down inside he knows he is the best ever. I can't wait for him to prove it to everyone else by beating the much bigger Anderson.

Don't mistake humility for weakness. I think many of his opponents did the same and they all regretted it.

That's not doubt....that's called being humble and keeping yourself grounded. It's one of the reasons he's universally admired and respected by not just the fans but the vast majority of his fellow fighters.

It's also what makes him so good at what he does. Georges never lets up on the quest to improve his skills and is always open minded to learn new things. Many people who have worked with him will tell you the man is almost obsessive when it comes to learning.

If you haven't watched the whole post fight pressed from UFC 154 you owe it to yourself to do so. The quote the OP is just a small taste of some of the great things Georges said. Some of my faves were when he grilled the media for what he felt was disrespecting him and mostly Condit with all the Silva fight questions and not giving Condit his due for what a great fighter he is, explaining the ring rust and how it affected him, his analytical breakdown of Condit's ground game and how dangerous it is as well as the things he learned from Dan Hardy (yes...you read that right)

I found it quite insightful. Be patient though watching this as since this was in Montreal a lot of the questions come in French and poor George's not only answered in French he also translated the question to English and transferred in English numerous times.

When was the last time we saw GSP come back after rehab from a potentially career ending injury, and then fight a guy as dangerous, skilled and well rounded as Condit?

he has a better combination of wrestling and striking than anderson and chael and any other mma fighter i can think of at the moment. im not giving him a pass for humping guys like hardy saying hes just a humble guy

basically hes saying "im just not that good im doing my best" i think hes still effected by the serra ko and watching anderson has put alot of doubt into his mind

This can be said about any fighter really.. Granted GSP is the best in the world at 170 and an amazing freakish athlete, how many fighters period get sidelined for less time then gsp did with a major injury and don't look the same after? Regardless of how it ended, he deserves tons of credit for what he did against condit.. Condit is easily one of the most skilled and well rounded fighters at 170, if not the best IMO.

Like someone mentioned before, some of condits strikes were telegraphed and he looked sloppy a few times, but gsp has the same thing Anderson silvas got going for him.. He's a fucking scary dude and people just don't look the same against them because they are so dangerous.

Props to gsp and I hope he continues smashing the 170 division for years to come Phone Post

A man's got to know his limitations.

George certainly does and it serves him well, he always improves his game and is very eager to learn.
