Maybe he just wants to hold his fights at a venue where he doesn't have to worry about the casino possibly cutting his celebrity guests' credit limit in half when they come to the casino to watch the fights? |

CindyO -MarcusRenatoBlackBelt - Real professional from Dana White. Mixing the UFC's business with how he is treated on the Casino floor is not only pathetic but unethical as the President of The UFC. Can you imagine Bud Selig or Roger Goodall doing this? EmbarASSing I'm pretty sure he tips those people FOR HIS OWN EGO and not out of care or for an understanding of the services provided. He over-tips because he has a massive ego and mental imbalance. |

^^^^ Dude you were just unfrozen. Why are you such a glutton for punishment? Clearly you should use your psychotherapist skills to look at yourself as you bash everything and everyone. Low self esteem much? |

Leghound -MarcusRenatoBlackBelt - Let me explain why cutting the credit line when someone is winning happens.... You bet small like $50 then but 75 then 100 and double the bet 200 400 800 1600 and keep doubling the bet .... they don't like to see that as it cuts down on the vig , or odds of the game. yes they do, you double up everytime and you're going to win once out of so many hands FACT. You just need a lot of money to do it. It's called the "Martingale" strategy iirc. |

I used to do it at my local casino but with black/red on the roulette then after a few big wins they changed the tables to $10 minimum on a color instead of $1. |

Facts: Dana did hit the Palms for a lot of money. The Palms also had a bad run with a couple other Dana size players that put them in a bad spot financially. Palms Casino is an independent. When high rollers hit them for big money it has a dramatic affect on their business. Unlike MGM properties that can lose $3 million to a whale one night and not blink an eye because they have 15 properties and there in NO WAY all 15 are losing at one time. The odds are in their favor in a BIG way. The Palms can get crippled by a couple big loses and they did. Palms Casino did in fact cut Dana's credit and he told them to fuck off and took his business elsewhere. The main reason this happened is because George Maloof, the original President of the Palms has been reduced to an employee and has to answer to a new President since the MALOOF family only owns 2% of the Palms now. Had George still been in power there is no way Dana would have been mistreated.

I used to work in surveillance at a casino, and counting cards was looked at as illegal on the property, even though it is not illegal. If you are good at it, you increase your odds dramatically, so the casinos hate that. Known card counters are banned from many casinos. More than likely, Dana got good at it. It isn't cheating, but is definitely not wanted by the casino for obvious reasons. |

DFW truly is a Renaissance man. From professional fighter with an incredible record and wins over some of the biggest names in Boston to unbeatable gambler. I know how he feels though...once in 'Nam I tried to hire a prostitute but she said my dick was just too god damn beau coup. It's hard being so fucking great. |

twizzle97 - I used to work in surveillance at a casino, and counting cards was looked at as illegal on the property, even though it is not illegal. If he likes BlackJack, I'm sure he knows some basic counting methods. That doesn't mean he always employs them, or even employs them properly. Counting cards only increases your odds of winning to about 51-52% unless working in teams or being able to jump in mid deck with a favorable count. Statistically, you will most likely have to work thousands upon thousands of hands to finally realize your advantage and gain any sort of traction against the casino. |

Goderson Silva -crunchysavior -He does the martingale strategy which is why they put a limit on how much he can bettwizzle97 - I used to work in surveillance at a casino, and counting cards was looked at as illegal on the property, even though it is not illegal. You could be right, but I sincerely doubt that he's employing the martingale strategy unless his maximum table limits were removed or are very high for some reason. I know that casinos will raise maximum table limits for high rollers, but I would think that the casino would notice if one of their high rollers was using martingale and not grant them that permission. I'm thinking that what one of the previous owners said is more likely. The Palms new backers (TPG Capital, Leonard Green) probably either put a dumbass in charge over there, or a mandate to cut down their financial exposure or operating costs. Hence, we get whale's credit lines cut down. It seems pretty retarded to me, as the casino will eventually recuperate at least most of it's money from the whale, and most likely all his money too. |

I'm told that the name will be changed to the Qualms in order to really rub it in. |

6ULDV8 -I was thinking about this... If he was playing blackjack it would make sense, if the deck's hot the player will raise his bets a lot, and if he's a good enough player and the limit is high enough he can get an edge. If it's possible to count the minimum and maximum are a big deal.

Glovegate -Not true if you can negotiate to play with certain modifications to the game, like huge bet limits and limited decks. In trying to lure in big players the house will give up parts of it's edge.BKViper - Idiots. Got what they deserve.
