tjmitchiscool - I'm seeing a lot of doubt from GSP lately...a year ago everyone would agree that he was the best athlete, the best mma wrestler...now even he doesn't believe it I too thought he looked like he was lacking confidence during his walk-in. He didnt walk in with the "destroyer face" he usually has. I'm really glad to see him win in the fashion he did, though. He fought through adversity, regained his composure, and found a way to win. Great fight from one of the all-time mma greats. |

He should have finished Hardy, Koschek, and Shields, maybe even Alves he dominated them but just seemed to refuse to close. Its like they never had a chance and everyone watching knew it but they still went the distance. However anyone complaining about Saturdays fight needs to check there pulse or something. Especially when you consider his last 18 months.

Yes, he should have finished Hardy without a doubt and outclassed Kos and Shields but didnt press it, he dominated Alves but Alves showed a great ability to get back up. He was also injured during both the Shields and Alves fights. Not sure what you mean by "refused to close" though when everytime he gets a td, he goes to pass and in Hardy's case, im quite sure the fact that he nearly ripped or snapped his arm on 2 occasions refutes that notion as well. Its that he isnt able to close not that he "refused." I would say against Kos and Jake though that he was playing the points game. |

BoilerBrawnByBeatdown - "I don't have the athletic ability of Jones." Yeah, this is true too though. He doesnt have the KO power and accuracy mentioned but he arguably has more in those area than those 2. Id say his wrestling is better than Chael, athleticism is at least on par with Jones. Remember though, Jones now is like the GSP against Hughes, Trigg, Sherk. |

Wasa-B -GSP isn't a better wrestler than Chael Sonnen. He's a better striker and smarter.BoilerBrawnByBeatdown - "I don't have the athletic ability of Jones." Easy to think he is the better wrestler though, if you don't recognise the reasons why it looks that way. GSP was completely correct in what he said.

Good quote. I'm no GSP fan but he gains more respect from me every time he fights. And lol at Hendricks at the end of that presser highlight!

With that mindset and determination GSP was beating ANYONE in front of him that night, no matter what and i have confidence in him that he'll also beat Sliva should that day come. TTT for the best Mixed Martial Artist of all time. |

I dont think people are really asking him to knock or finish people... they just want to stop paying to watch his sparring sessions. He performed beautifully in the condit fight and there was no finish. People arent demanding that you finish... they just want you to try. This seems to be a problem with zahabi and his tristar gym... in general his fighters look like they're in a sparring session instead of a fight. It looks like they are trying to make it a sparring session instead of a fight. |

I've always respected Georges because he has been the best WW for a long time, but he really won me over as a fan on Saturday.

buckshot44 - Look at the damage he took! When was the last time we saw GSP beat up so badly? He controlled the fight for 22 mins, he was in danger but worked his way out of it. He put on a great show. |

UGCTT_nightkap -This just shows he will always have his haters and detractors. The guy even when he dominates gets shit on by critics. He is one of the most dominate and impressive fighters ever.Bumpy Johnson -Well said sir...well saidtjmitchiscool - I'm seeing a lot of doubt from GSP lately...a year ago everyone would agree that he was the best athlete, the best mma wrestler...now even he doesn't believe it

Georges is the real deal. I know at least 5 little kids that got into MMA kid clases because of him and his positive and classy attitude. My buddy's five year old wear the headband and does karate kicks all day in the backyard. Don't flame me, but to the youth, he's like a John Cena type for the little MMA fans. Big fan. |

I don't agree that this shows 'doubt' or some kind of mental block in George that's holding him back. I see it as a sign of a fighter who's had a lot of time to think. You can tell he has taken time in the last year to really analyse himself. Just from his speech you can tell he places greater emphasis on the power of the mind and the difference it can make. It speaks of a fighter who has tried in earnest to objectively view himself - and he's come to the conclusion that, yeah, maybe he's not the best at x, y and z, but he has tools that can't be so easily identified; and these tools make him the champ. And the very fact that he has recognised his limitations speaks of a mature mind; not necessarily of one that is doubting his abilities. He's giving off the 'wise warrior' vibe imo, not insecurity. Just my .02

GSP is at least as athletic as Jones is. Might not be as explosive though. |
