Which of these bands to you prefer? This is a very difficult one for me to chose because these are two of my all time favorites. I saw the recent thread here about Led Zepplin ripping off other artist (I already knew that some of their songs were covers, but I didn't know about all of those rip offs), so this almost makes me want to chose Rush. However, Led Zepplin did an outstanding job with the covers that they did (in spite of them not always giving credit for this covers), plus they put out lots of great original stuff as well. Wow, this is a tough one. I'd have to think about this for a while, and even then I don't know if I'll be able to chose. |

kind of in different genres although there's been a resurgence of Rush recently. I just saw them recently peform in Toronto and the place was packed with a lot of the old guys but surprisingly a lot of young faces |

Geddy Lee's voice is an acquired taste, like broken glass toothpaste But they could do legit reggae, which is important if you like reggae like I do

Rush has handful of great songs. Zeppelin has a handful of songs that aren't great.

To those calling Zeppelin overrated, that is silly talk. Even if you don't like Led Zeppelin's music, there is absolutely zero debating that they are one of the most ingenious bands of their (or any) time. Much like Pink Floyd, they did things musically that no one else has ever done, and they did it with amazing effectiveness. Brilliance! |

Zeppellin broke more barriers and touched on soo many more genre's. There library of tracks is potentially the greatest in music history in terms of great songs.

I like a few Zep songs... Stairway and Immigrant and some others, but I don't really like most of their stuff. Not sure why. Rush is probably my favourite band of all time. They're technically amazing, the music has lots of emotion, great lyrics, cool guys... couldn't really ask for more. And the fact that they're awesome live and have had the same 3 members for what, 35 years? People who hate on Rush are just assholes.
