What OS do you prefer? If you own other Apple products I would go with the iPhone 5. If you use mainly PC I would switch to S3. I'm a raging iphag so the iPhone was an easy decision for me.

Even Galaxy S III does not match an old iPhone like 3GS is smoothness.

I don't know what is it about iOS' UI but it is smooth, when you slide a list up and down, it's so fucking smooth, Android just does not have that responsiveness, there is something "off" about Android's UI.

Just out the link below, how it compares to Windows 8 in scrolling. Windows responds instantly and super fast, yet controllable. Android, not so much.

Also Android does not have an edge bounce back effect, which ruins the UI.

I think it's more relevant if you have Apple *content* than Apple *hardware*.. Do you have lots of music/video in iTunes? It's possible to convert it to run on the GS3 but it could be an ass pain. AI switched from iPhone to GS3 and had major problems, but his were related mostly to hardware issues IIRC. He ended up regretting the switch overall though. Phone Post

Just get easy phone sync for free, and it's incredibly easy, it gives you the option to transfer contacts, and pictures as well thats saved on youre iTunes, and it's really easy to update aswell, just as easy as iTunes. Phone Post

The lag issue (which is a major one) is apparently fixed in Android 4.1. I'll wait to see it before I believe it, tho.

There is ZERO lag on my S3... not a drop of it anywhere.

Get away from Apple, and the whole suck you in ecosystem and start buying devices that fit YOU. Whether it's a 5" phone, 3" phone or a 7" tablet... buy things that fit YOU. Or you could tie yourself down with ONE phone from ONE company and let them decide what fits you.

WHat's funny is I hear all the Apple fanboys talk about how it's so smooth, never crashes, yet iOS has more app crashes and more update issues than Android. They won't tell you that though. They'll tell you how it's perfect and never does anything wrong.

Buy a nice high end Android an all will be well.

One more thing... EVERY smart phone will have lemons. Doesn't matter who makes it or what it's running. There are exceptions to every rule. You can't make 30-40 million devices and not have some issues along the way. There are some thing's that Apple can't be excused for. Like their horrendous maps or iOS 6 crippling older phones.

Android isn't perfect, but the competition alone among their manufacturers is what is pushing them to make the best phones and devices out there.

There's a reason the S3 is outselling the iPhone.

They both probably do everything you want

I went from iphone 4 to the s3 in May and I've got no complaints
At work a few people got the 5 and it seems pretty comparable.

For me what swings it is things like removable sd storage and battery on the s3, plus being able to install whatever apps I want without having to jail break and all that hassle of escaping the Apple tie-in
I also commute three hours a day so the big screen is nice for films on the train
Also Google play music is very very convenient. Although this only came out in the UK last week so wasn't part of my apple v android decision Phone Post

"yet iOS has more app crashes and more update issues than Android. They won't tell you that though."

Bull. Shit iOS has more update issues than Android. Whatever you like is fine, but that's straight up bullshit. Android 4.2 was called the buggiest Android release ever by an Android site. They fucking left the month of December out of the goddamn calendar app for fuck's sake.

"There's a reason the S3 is outselling the iPhone."

Yes. It took the top spot in Q3 right before the iPhone 5 launch so people who were thinking about an iPhone were holding off. I will bet you that the sales for this quarter show the iPhone 5 soundly beating the S3. 18 days after it had been released the iPhone 5 was generating more web traffic than the S3. It took 60 days for Sammy to sell 10 million S3s. iPhone 5 sold six million in the 1st three days.

The only edge I would give Apple over its competitors is design. But the aluminium on the iPhone 5? No thanks. Light? Sure but it also scratches far more easily than gorilla glass or polycarbonates

Android Jelly Bean also rapes the face of ios easily. There's no legit comparison anymore.

Imo the S3 is the first phone/software combination to desicisvely beat the iPhone. Now with jelly Bean well rolled out, and with even more awesome phones coming out it's no contest anymore. Phone Post

Went from the iphone 4 to the 5 and it's much faster. I'd go with the galaxy 3 if you want a bigger screen. I could care less about that though.

I prefer the apps and games on the iPhone. Also I love iOS and how it gets updated. Not all androids get os updates. I looked at the galaxy but it felt like a more cheaply made and less solid phone. Phone Post

I'm planning on getting an upgrade tomorrow and choosing between the 2 phones. Leaning toward the iphone 5. The s3 seems more bulky and I really don't need a bigger screen.

There have been more than a few studies showing that iOS apps crash more than Android. Factor in that 70% of the Android phones made are low end, hunks of shit. How many older iPhones are all fucked up due to iOS6? Seriously, how many users are avoiding the upgrade for as long as they can? A whole lot are. Why is that? Apple is so amazing at software how can that be??? Because it's a piece of shit.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Which-platform-crashes-more-Android-or-iOS_id26542

That study above doesn't even include JB, which is miles ahead of anything Apple can come up with.

iOS is the buggy piece of shit! Are you fucking drunk, son? EVERYONE has issues with it while JellyBean is getting rave reviews from damn near everyone.

Hey man, you keep believing that there;s no need for an SD slot.

You can sip the juice that says an easily replaceable battery is stupid.

Keep on thinking that Apple will ever come close to Google Maps. Google will bail your silly ass out though with a map app.

You can go on feeling that proprietary cables are smart in 2012.

It's not the phone bro, you're holding it wrong... but here's a rubber case to make your phone work.

iTunes is good for you... really it's much simpler than drop and drag.

I've convinced quite a few people to make the switch and all are happy. My bro in law got a bum phone. VZW replaced it on the spot and he's amazed at what he's been missing.

All in all iPhones are decent devices. I get that part, but to keep shitting on MY choice because it's surpassed yours in every area is just being a douchenozzle.
