most watched UFC prelim on sportsnet... From Press Release:
500k viewer average is very good for a prelim. In comparison the Blue Jays average around 500k viewers for the season. in "american dollars" this would be equivalent to 3.5 million viewers on FX. the UFC is underperforming in the USA big time. Becuase it isnt generally accepted with the current 45 and over crowd in the states and the move to fox has been disasterous in 2012. Demographically speaking, they should be pulling 1.75m viewers on FX (which is around what they were doing on spike). Then, as the current over 45's are dying and being replaced eventually the numbers will be in line with canada. But you have to get back the #"s they were pulling on spike. Hopefully with tuf moving to a better night, Fight nights on FX moving back to the saturday 9pm time slot the eyeballs should come back. |
