Bleacher Report has the too often deserved reputation on the UG as being what Mike Tyson liked to call ludicrous. Today they did the best fighter from each of the 50 US states. It is a mixed bunch. Anthony Pettisis is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chael Sonnen is from Milwaukie, Oregon. Biggest hometown is Joseph Benavidez's San Antonio, Texas with a population of 1,327,407. Tim Boetsch is from Lincolnville, Maine with a population of just 2,042. Lincolnville just edges out Cody McKenzie's Cordova, Alaska (Population: 2,454). But no one on the list boasts a hometown as small as Spencer Fisher, who comes from Cashiers, North Carolina (Population: 157). The UG has visits, daily, from each of the States, so where was Bleacher Report correct, and where was the choice ludicrous? Who is the best fighter from your state? Alabama: John Salter (Hometown: Gardendale) |

Change Alabama to Daniel O'Brien. Not many fights yet, but big things in his future. But I like Salter and he is a good representative

California - How about Cain Velasquez, Daniel Cormier, The Diaz Brothers? And I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of great fighters in SoCal. As big of a Urijiah fan as I am, he's probably not even the best guy in his camp.

Doesn't Joey B fight out of Cali? Yves or King Mo actually live and fight out of TX.

Don't get me wrong, Josh Barnett is a great representative of Washington. My issue with this list is whether it is current fighters or "the best" from each state. Without a doubt, Randy Couture is the best fighter to come from Washington. |

Can't argue with Frankie Edgar from NJ but Eddie Alvarez is the best from PA, not Phil Davis.

This list needs to be changed, Keith Jardine is neither the baddest man in Montana nor a guy who trains in Montana. If anything he is a New Mexico guy. Our baddest man in the state is Lloyd 'Cupcake' Woodard. WUTT |
