After his disqualification loss to Patrick ‘The Predator’ Côté at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit last weekend for striking his foe with numerous illegal blows to the back of his head, Italian striker Alessio Sakara’s agent filed an appeal with the Régie des alcools des courses et des jeux (Québec Athletic Commission) to have the ruling reversed. Sakara vented afterward that he had never been warned by referee Dan Miragliotta, therefore the ruling should have been “No Contest.” For rest of article CLICK HERE |

lol @ "never warned." So he's either claiming he never knew punching someone in the back of the head was illegal before that night or It was okay to break the rules until he was warned by the ref to stop, at which point the fight would continue on or at worse be a no contest. |

da Vinci 81 - lol @ "never warned." This is actually exactly how it is. If you kick someone in the balls and the ref does not step in, should you sit there and give the other fighter the 5 minutes to recover, even though the ref didn't? Sakara wasn't warned. He wasn't deducted a point. There was no stop in the action. The fight should be a no contest. There is no way that fight should go to Cote, even if Sakara was breaking the rules. If the fighters are to govern themselves in the cage and abide by the rules at all times, why the fuck is there a ref in the first place? |

Brigham -da Vinci 81 - lol @ "never warned." Uh, no not even close. I've never seen someone repedeatedly kick someone in the balls with no ref intervention. THEN it would be a similar situation. Sakara's "never warned" argument is that he wasn't told to stop so he just kept on doing it. |

So fighters should freely break the rules, expect only a warning and then they can continue on... people saying this must think that fighter who cheap shot the other guy during the stare down was well within his rights because he hadn't been warned yet. |

LOL @ appealing that BS. Sakara knew he lost it and f***ed up. that rule "detail" is BS though: you can bash someone in the back of the head as long as you're also touching their ears or some other part of the head ? horseshit. can't blame Dan for trying to apply the rule by the book. it's the rule description that is the problem. |

A ref can disqualify a fighter at any time. |

I haven't seen this fight. DVRing the replay tonight. Is a rematch warranted here? |

Why would we expect more from these Canadians? They would never give Sakara a fair chance. Like Sakara said, "there is one word in his mind from this fight ...victory." Alessio and all the real fans know he won that fight. Anderson and Tito couldn't finish cote, but Sakara did

Looking at the GIF,I would have disqualified the fighter without a warning. That is some blatant rule breaking. There was plenty of places he could have landed clean strikes. |

Big tan Dan said that most of those punches were legal because Sakara was touching the ear. Such laser accuracy Sakara has.
