The Sauce - The biggest pro to a union would be to see fighters being treated like humans instead of $heep MMA doesn't need a Union for that. Just some actual competition. Do you think Dana would be shitting on his fighters if they could say "Fuck you. I'll go to PRIDE,DREAM, Glory, etc?" He'll be back to being quiet and humble Dana real quick. |

Boxing has a union? LOL at that. PLEASE. SAG is a failure? You surely cannot be close to serious. Compare team sports to MMA? Why not? You think Edwin Nunez and Derek Jeter are in the same place competitively or financially? Yet, they have some very common interests together. Both are free to leave the MLBPA, neither do. They never do. They are always free too. The same holds true of the other sports. Why do you suppose this is? |

Macedawgg - "SAG is a failure? You surely cannot be close to serious." Did I say SAG is a failure? Most unions don't fail, try reading comments before you respond to them? They do very well at sustaining themselves while they crush industry. And SAG, like every other union in California, is an anchor around California's neck. That's why they outsource productions to other states and other countries. That's why buffoons like the idiot Michael Moore don't use union labor. That's why right-to-work states and non-union industry/business are so much more successful, while cities are declaring bankruptcy left and right in states like California. That's why our private schools are the best in the world at half the cost of our government-schools which are the laughing stock of the modern world. Go to Detroit and look at all the good unions did there. The once thriving hub of America's industrial might, reduced to a 3rd world uninhabited wasteland. Zuffa is doing great without union thugs moving in and ripping everything down for their own gains. |

You mentioned SAG. SAG has crushed an industry? LOL again. Again, you cannot be serious. MLBPA, NFLPA--have they crushed an industry? LOL. The growth and success of both leagues is mind boggling. NHLPA--despite everyone predicting doom and gloom, returns after each stoppage incredibly successful.

Well not really my point lol. But the competition isn't there. Tried, failed, rinse, wash, repeat. (At least the ones that always try to compete with the UFC on their first show)

Dana telling fighters they don't need managers, Lol sure. Of course Zuffa doesn't want a union, same reason the Fertittas aren't going to let their casinos unionize

(At least the ones that always try to compete with the UFC on their first show)Do you think it would be easier for upstarts to get going with a union to deal with? A union would likely make it so only the ufc could continue to operate. Which is why I think at this point in the sports growth it would not be a good thing. Obviously with the fighter summits, implementing the health coverage during training the ufc is trying to protect its fighters without the need for unions.
