It is a kyokushin karate tournament. I would call that a yoko domawashi kaiten geri. basically that is a forward roll (or side rotating forward roll in the "yoko" version. the straight forward roll is the "mae" version). It is a High risk / high reward technique that has become pretty popular in the sport of knockdown karate, where the fight is halted after you land and restarted standing (=no risk of getting pounded while lying helpless on your back) -in other words, it is a specialized technique due to sport rule adaptions.
This is the "Mae" version:
A version of this rolling kick was used by Peter Graham (kyokushin based kickboxing/mma fighter) to break Badr Hai´s jaw in 7 places in a k-1 tournament a few years ago.
And just to show that it can be used in MMA. Here is kyokushin based MMA fighter Marius Zaromskis using the Mae version (vs Bruno Carvalho) in "rumble of the kings" last year.

Heel kicks are brutal. Just absolute savagely brutal. What's that TKD kick where you pick up like a full frontal split then you bring the heel down on your opponents head/shoulders? Leaves you super vulnerable, is draining etc, but it would fuck somebody's face up for good. |

Liyon - What weight was the Zaromski fight at??? It looks like David vs. Goliath!
the fight was at -77.1 kg and Marius Zaromski weighted 77kg and he is known for being undersized and not cutting weight.
But Bruno Carvalho has admited to weighting a full 80kg on fight night. he is also 10 cm taller.

another nice forwardroll KO kick from [shin]kyokushin karate (kick at the 2 min mark) Two technical infighters.
and one more (pretty boring except for the end) kick at the 3 minute mark Two extreme outfighters.

Naughty Gorilla - High risk / high reward ? Funnily enough, fighters who are good at it tend to land it flush a lot. That is not low %. But if you have not trained it enough, yes then it is low % -but so is any technique you are not proficient with. And fighters who are good at it also KO with it a lot. That spells high reward for me. When it hit properly it is a fight stopper. As for low risk. In knockdown it is low risk, yes. But not in MMA. |

DamnSevern - Decent kick. The opponent kind of walked into it, but never complain over what works. It is not a domawashi kaiten geri, though. It is just a run of the mill spinning heel. The guy fell because he lost ballance when it connected. If it had not connected he would have spun around and stayed on his feet. |
