Berto has got to be the worlds most disappointed man. Was all set for Mosley and then gets to watch Floyd and Shane. Fights Ortiz with Floyd in the audience waiting to challenge him, only to lose. And now good possibility that Guerrero will get the next shot. Berto has become Floyd's gatekeeper

Nobody will pay to see Guerrero fight for a long time. ... no matter how much he wins. You have to appeal to the people that are in the casino's gambling and their arm candy. Victor Ortiz was single like Floyd so the women come to the fights and it's a night on the town. Guerrero is a rainy weekend and there's nowhere to go type of guy right now. People pay for either skill or flash... Guerrero is a mauler. Nobody pays for maulers. They either want to see a technician like Marquez or Ward or somebody flashy like Floyd or Broner. Broner will be PPV before Guerrero. Tim Bradley isn't PPV either after his showing at the Pacquiao fight. Ward and Broner are PPV's next low number guys. Look at Martinez... he could be PPV but nobody that can draw people to the other corner will fight him. Cotto isn't PPV either. |

kostello - Nobody will pay to see Guerrero fight for a long time. a mauler who just got a much talked about win on hbo against a guy that has been on hbo several times. he holds a belt and a solid win over a long time top 10 guy in berto . they put him in against floyd on cinco de mayo at the mgm grand and they sell it out and do a million sales on ppv. |

Yeah, Guerrero will draw because of the Mexican fanbase. And how is Cotto not PPV? He's the third highest grossing pay per view attraction in the sport right now if I'm not mistaken. Madison Square Garden will be packed this weekend because of him. |

PoundforPound - Yeah, Guerrero will draw because of the Mexican fanbase. But trout is bringing nothing to the table. Literally a fan base in the hundreds if that many. Only the hardcore has even heard of trout and they weren't impressed

Cotto not being on PPV is a GBP decision IMO. They're trying to build up Showtime with Espinoza in charge.

endochokedme - i never heard of Trout before i saw him commentating and I been trying to watch all the HBO/Showtime fights for along time now Trout is a normal guy that brings nothing new to the table that Cotto hasn't seen before. He's slick but his technique isn't great. He's a good solid fighter. Cotto will run though him and that Canelo fight will certainly happen in May and man will that be huge. |

Looked highly skilled and kind of passive too. Kid is definitely well schooled and can box.

God Bless Tim Tebow -Can you imagine a card with cotto-canelo and Floyd-Guerrero on cinco de mayo? With the winners fighting each other on September 16? It would be some great fights and takes top rank out and manny out of the super fight equationendochokedme - i never heard of Trout before i saw him commentating and I been trying to watch all the HBO/Showtime fights for along time now

Canelo would also become a giant star to not just the Hispanic audience but the American audience too if he happens to beat Cotto on such a big stage. Not to mention surely it'll add a completely new dynamic financially to the event. A 1million PPV buy event with Floyd-Guerrero suddenly turns to a 1.5-1.7million buy event. If I was GBP and Floyd himself I would seriously consider putting that event together. There are too many pluses and too few cons. Great idea with the tourney, I hadn't planned that far but it's a really good marketing plan for Floyd's next fight. |

yea that's the way to go, and a lot of money to be made...it all depends on if Oscar is willing to throw Canelo in there with Floyd, he didn't shy away from admitting he wasn't ready as of a few months ago. |

David Price a top British prospect just beat Matt Skelton (Former K1 and Pride vet)in 2 rounds. Wants to fight Tyson Fury or Derek Chisora next. Freddie FLintoff fights within the hour, Flintoff is a former professional cricketer and a huge star in the UK, will be interesting to see how he does in his boxing debut! |

Sources close to Gabriel Rosado have informed BoxingScene.com that Rosado will challenge Gennady Golovkin for his WBA middleweight title on Jan. 19. The fight will be televised by HBO and will take place in New York. The fight is agreed to in principle, with all monetary terms settled , but contracts have yet to be signed. Rosado will move up from 154 pounds to 160 for the fight.
The other finalist for the bout was Fernando Guerrero, who lost out to Rosasdo for the big title opportunity. Rosado (21-5, 13 KOs) and Golovkin both enjoyed breakout years in 2012. Rosado had three fights on NBC Sports Network's Fight Night series, winning each fight by stoppage. Golovkin (24-0, 21 KOs) made his debut in Sept. with a sterling knockout performance over Grzegorz Proksa. |

Gamboa on Broner Article Link - http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&opt=printable&id=59904#ixzz2DkXp9YI2 This is a legal waiver. By copying and using the material from this article, you agree to give full credit to BoxingScene.com or provide a link to the original article. By Luis Sandoval
Yuriorkis Gamboa is set to make his return to the ring after a 15 month layoff in a new weight class and under the new promotional banner SMS Promotions on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez IV fight on December 8th. Gamboa looked in phenomenal shape at his media day as he worked out and put his speed and power on display. While he needs to get back into the swing of things in this fight, there have already been discussions of the possible opponents Gamboa could face next.
One name that has been brought up by the public repeatedly is rising star and current WBC Lightweight champion Adrien Broner. Gamboa was asked what he thought of a possible match up with Broner. "Exactly, that's one of the fights I would like to have. I've heard rumors that Broner has been talking like he wants a fight with me and if he wants to fight with me, we'll give him the opportunity in the moment that we enter 135 pounds. He was at 130 pounds so I think we will fight at 135" said Gamboa. Both fighters have shown they posses lighting speed and true knockout power which makes a fight with them a natural super fight. Gamboa was asked what his thoughts were on Broner as a fighter. "Honestly I think he's a good boxer.
A fighter that has focused on getting results and it's worked for him. He's still undefeated. But I think I'm also good and I'm also undefeated and he's never faced a fighter of my quality" Gamboa would tell BoxingScene. It's no secret Broner resembles Floyd Mayweather Jr in many ways both inside and outside the ring. Gamboa, who is friends with Floyd Mayweather, was asked if he felt Broner had a similar fighting style as Mayweather. "Yes, I've seen and at the same time heard the opinions of people that he imitates Floyd's style a bit. But you can't imitate the quality" said Gamboa as he took a small jab at Broner. Gamboa's full focus is on his fight next Saturday night but he assures he wants to face the best and is definitely open to a showdown with Broner. |
