No. In the context of football the 'Premier League' refers to the Barclays Premier League. As tony said, the language indicates what league it is. No one says La Spanish Liga,La Liga Espanol or the Primera Division of La Liga, or the Italian Serie A. Equally the austrian league is also called the Bundesliga but you dont call the german league the German Bundesliga to differentiate it. Its just 'the Bundesliga' 'The EPL' is a stupid americanism. |
