Daverr - 4 lbs after cutting, which means he was probably close to 25 lbs over on fight night, being one of the biggest cutters in the division. |

thats what Thiago used to walk around at. I used to see him all the time in Miami and he was a big boy. He missed weight my guess was he stopped cutting knowing he wasn't going to make it which allowed him to retain alot not deplete and replenish to what we saw in the fight |

i dunno, im not saying he was roiding, but he just looked a lot different than oter fights i guess it could be the weight thing, but i just didnt think 4lbs would make u look that much more huge. whatever he did, it worked in the fight anyway. he was a animal then |

Daverr - He's missed weight 3 times in UFC, and tested positive for a banned diuretics once... which could have been used to help him cut weight, OR as a masking agent for something else. Either way, you're not too far off base here. |

I'm pretty sure Matt was informed that Thiago wouldn't be making weight, he just took the fight anyway. Edit: Didn't Alves only test positive for diuretics? Still a banned substance, but I don't think it was roids. |

It's an old topic, but it does stick out to me as one of the biggest looking size differentials at fight time in a non-heavyweight fight or non-freakshow fight. |

RileyPust - I'm pretty sure Matt was informed that Thiago wouldn't be making weight, he just took the fight anyway. Fighters always have the option to refuse the fight if the opponent fails to make weight. It's not like Matt Hughes to ever turn down a fight though. |
