UGCTT_SMASHED BY A BIG RIG! -Didn't Dana say they'd only show it if there was a clean shot or something to that effect?

Sorry but the first thing I thought of was a 5000 fps "money shot". |

samúð og völd - Just like they were going to debut the Ref Cam...?They may not have had a good shot in any of the fights. I'd have to think that this camera will capture everything and hopefully they'll use it as much as possible.

I remember a few years ago they used a super slo-mo cam on a couple of UFC's. Never understood why they stopped using them. |

x Anchor x - So why aren't these cameras standard in pro sports? Don't tell me the MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA and UFC can't afford them. Do you mean for every camera, or just having one at every game? For every camera it probably would be prohibitively expensive to replace them all with Phantoms, not to mention there are limitations in terms of the lensing that simply wouldn't work for some camera positions. As for incorporating them into regular broadcasts, it's my understanding they are moving that way. Just takes some time to get the wheels moving. |

MMALOGIC - I know you are kidding, but the camera itself needs to be triggered because it eats through space like crazy. So it contains a buffer that holds the recording when the trigger is hit.The buffer on the cinema cameras are around 16 gigs and usually only records about 1-3 seconds (average). Also going through 3000 frames of footage is a bitch. |

thatsme - YAWN! Anyone else bored? I'd be more interested if this was used in motion pictures, like The Hobbit or other fantasy movies. I'm excited. Imagine if this was around for the Silva/Vitor knockout? How about the Hendo/Bisping KO? |

God I hope this cam gets a good shot of nice KO. But even a solid leg kick on that kind of slow mo would be cool to see. |
