GSP Vs Condit did about 700k, I believe GSP vs Diaz could break a million. What do you guys think?

Ummmm no. Diaz-Penn did under 300K and Condit-Diaz did 400K. I think it would sell the same as GSP-Condit

if chael/anderson couldnt break 1million i dont think diaz/gsp will.

i think the UFC has a 900k-950k buy ceiling at the moment.  But things could change...

tuf is moving to tuesdays on FX wich is historically fx's most watched nights in television.  if tuf is doing 2 million viewers a week then absolutely GSP vs Diaz can break 1m for a mid march ppv.  even going back to their 1.3million average would help alot.

FX fight nights are also going back to saturday nights so those could go back to doing 1.8 million plus viewers instead of around 1 million it's doing now.

Zuffa just needs to get the eyeballs back on their product and thus their commercials.

The other issue is that with tuf on a 9pm timeslot where do you put the primetimes?  if it's not immediately after ufc programming it becomes flacid.

1 million PPVs

GSP is back, his last fight was exciting, the twitter war etc that Diaz will bring...Diaz is a character.

i think for the most part, you are right about that ceiling at 900-950, but GSP is an outlier. He is worth an extra 100-200k in canada that no other fighter can get. gsp diaz gets all the buys of silva vs sonnen, plus those canada buys, imo, to put him over 1m

that's one way to look at it, but then you could look at how sonnen has historically not sold in fights outside of anderson silva, and silva has not really sold huge outside of sonnen, but when you put them together it just works.

When's the last time a UFC PPV has cracked 1M buys without Lesnar?

Sure, I'm sure the UFC will push it hard. Primetime specials, features on the fighters, the whole package

However, it will be only slightly due to Diaz. He just hasn't shown himself to be a major PPV draw. Hes not the star to the casual fans that he is to people on this site. GSP is consistently great with his PPV numbers, Diaz will just be an added push. Phone Post

Sonnen/Silva ALMOST did 1m because Sonnen talked a shitload and it was a rematch of a fight that he dominated until getting tapped. The last tine anyone saw Diaz fight he was losing to a guy GSP just beat. This will do 600-800k. Mostly because GSP does great numbers regardless of the opponents. Phone Post

Not a chance. Why does everyone think Diaz is such a draw? It would draw the same as GSP/Condit.

I think 1 million buys is unrealistic for the UFC right now unless it was GSP vs. Anderson... or Anderson vs. Jon Jones.
