The_KoJ - SERIOUSLY!? nobody WFA'd this shit!? Get this shit outta the OG. Sakuraba transcends MMA. He is a larger than life figure. Putting him on the OG or UG makes no difference. When Sak was in his prime, office ladies , old people, people who had no interest in fighting tuned in to watch him fight. Transcendence. |

Yama-Arashi - I love how this thread has brought out a ton of old school guys from pre-2000 submissionfighting.com days. Love the nostalgia though, this is why I loved MMA. that's good. It was a magical time. That kind of magic is hard to capture in any genre or sport nowadays. |

Thanks for posting. Probably the best HL video I've seen in a long long time.

A truly magnificent video, it captures Sakuraba and his journey beautifully. The term "warrior" is overused in MMA but to nobody is the term more fitting than Sakuraba, the man will just never say die.

Good montage. Easily one of the greatest and most entertaining fighters in history ! He should've retired from fighting much much earlier though. I worry about the effect some of those beatings he took later in his career will have on his health. |

yeah. sak took a lot of fights just because the bosses told him to. this is what happens when seniority respect gets abused |

Fought Gracie for an hour and a half and still came out and when fifteen grueling minutes with Igor Vovchanchyn. It was the first Pride I actually got the chance to order (two week tape delay). It's something I will never forget. He dominated his weight class in a way the we have seldom if ever seen. |

I just got chills and a tear watching that video. Truly an epic period of MMA that will never be recreated. If I lived to be 1,000 and watched 10,000 more fighters, Saku will remain my favorite. |

Truly the greatest of all time. He inspired me to fight. The best part of Saku was that he appeared to be a totally regular guy. He won because of his spirit and determination as much as he ever won because of his skill.
