So, it's been 2 weeks now. I did a video shoot with my wife since we own the business and I always have my pain the next day. Usually I will get my ankle pains, knee pains and back pains..yea..I blamed it all from Years of BJJ without stretching. I've had 3 knee surgeries and 2 back tears already. Now I have had gout on and off since 2002, it does get pretty bad sometimes. So the day after our shoot, I got up out if bed, barely walking, and my middle of my back was in sharp pain, went to lie back down, now my left side where my kidneys was was tightening and cramping when I lied on it, my left side did the same as well. After about 4 hours my Neck would not move, if I tried to move it in any direction it would hurt like a mofo. I couldn't move my right shoulder it appeared to have some long swollen bump on my shoulder area and hurts when touched. Both my elbows also had like extra bone, looked like Popeyes elbows, not forearms. I was getting chills and fevers now and now when I even attempted to adjust my feet, my foot muscles would hurt in agony. I didn't sleep of the first 3 days because every time I would start to sleep I would get this large jolt or shiver and it would hurt all the muscles so so bad. Going to the shitter was so hard, thanks to my son and my wife for helping me , I'm 220lbs, not an easy task. My knees were so swollen you could hear them rum when I moved them. So, I called the Ambulance and told them I couldn't move and need to get to the Hospital and I was there within 30 min. They did some test and the Dr said, that isn't your RA Rhuematoid Arthritis, it just sounds too odd. After 5 hours they said I had Fibromyalgia , very severe. But as soon as he told me he was going to shoot me up with some steroids (Prednisone) I said no, I told him since my sister in law was an ER doctor but based in LA, she said that I have had 4-5 full cycles already and me having not such a good liver, she said that I am on the verge of being on Dialysis. I left but had the hardest time ever to get back in the house, my neighbors had to carry me and when you can't trust them to carry you, it's just plain hard. So I'm here now just typing on the phone and making sure I don't fall into depression again. My company Big7 Media to be run by my wife and kids and I guess the good news is I just got "best if weddings 2013" at theknot.com and weddingchannel.com , so I am excited that we will be getting new clients. I was relying on social marketing and was even hoping Dana White was going to follow me on twitter, in fact he did say on an older thread he was but the guys so busy and I think I can get more followers anyways. I have been coughing and chest hurts when I cough, I am hoping its not pneumonia now. I will keep you updated and this made me feel a little better letting this all out to my UG people. www.twitter.com/big7media

They think it might have something to do with my immune system. But the Doctor that said it was was also trying to get a 2nd opinion. They were thinking my Rheumatoid Arthritis was acting up but then they said, RA wouldn't do this

Honestly sounds like poly articulate gout. Your "Popeye elbows" are what's called tophi. The prednisone probably wouldn't be a bad idea, as well as some indomethacin or colchicine. Some of these gouty joints may also be becoming septic, and you may require antibiotics as well. I don't know what hospital you went to, but maybe you should find a better one and go to their ED.

They tried to tell me I had fibro, when it was really multiple bulging disks and fucking stenosis. Don't assume they're right -- if that's even a real disorder -- unless you get an MRI showing nothing major in your back. |

If your issue is immune system you must heal your gut. Take probiotics (most affordable way is brewing Kefir). There's also a poster called Alex who sells an immune supplement based on raw milk. - http://drinkbiogif.com - He gave away free samples to several OGers including myself few months ago, great stuff. |

If you think it's auto-immune... You should be referred to a rheumatologist at least. Good UG members, please be careful with giving medical advice the dude needs specialist care first - it's going to be tough for you to advise him over the internet on a super-speciality of internal medicine if its not your day job. That being said, please get yourself some good doctors that you can trust and that will listen to your concerns before ordering all the tests or making a presumptive diangosis. You deserve that. Take care and be easy on yourself. Getting back to feeling better is indeed a collaborative effort with some decent support here, but it will take time. All the best man.

Sorry your not feeling well bro. Hope you find your health soon. If i were you i would find a good Homeopathic doctor and try that route if the regular doctors are giving you the run around. I will agree about Fibromyalgia being a bullshit diagnosis. But it's not Bullshit on your end its bullshit on the Doctors end. Your pain is real. They just give you that diagnosis when they don't want to help you. Don't give up is my advice. In closing it truly makes me sick how someone can be in this much pain and yet some people shit all over him. Oh he is faking, he is crazy etc. Like I said makes me sick and some people should be ashamed of themselves for acting the way they do. Your health is the greatest gift in the world. Pisses me off when someone can not only take there health for granted but than shit all over people who don't have there health in the meantime. |

I agree a rheumatologist would be a good idea, but if you saw some good doctors in the first place you would have been sent down that path to begin with. |

Sorry to hear man. I did long-term prednisone for my hands and it was the worst mistake. Killed my system. Joints felt great in the meantime. You're west coast right?

Please don't allow yourself to be labeled with fibromyalgia. It is def a diagnosis of exclusion and 95% of all doctors believe it is half BS and half psychosomatic.

Damn dude, that sounds rough. Really focus on healing your body and it will happen. Don't neglect diet. Makes sure you get lost of veggies and leafy greens and minimize meat and dairy. It can really help with inflammation which could be a huge underlying cause of your symptoms. |

I fucking love the Internet except for the fact it makes people think they can fucking google something or read PubMD to figure out your problem. Everyone's a fucking doctor and it's beyond retarded. This isn't swapping out a starter in a Honda. It's the human body and we still don't know shit, but it's safe to say doctors know more than all of us MMA fans on the UG. I know what everyone is saying and I've heard the same thing, but how do we know? Tommy

TommyRSU - I fucking love the Internet except for the fact it makes people think they can fucking google something or read PubMD to figure out your problem. Right, of the 1000+ people who viewed this thread so far, not one of them could POSSIBLY be a doctor or have gone through a similar experience and have relevant advice. That would just be absurd. |

Fibro is well, invisible. So, if they looked at you to determine that, they are full of shit. As of now, there is no testing to determine if someone has fibro as it is considered to just be overactive nerves. If you are seeing swelling and what not, it's probably an auto-immune flare up(similar to reactive arthritis). Prednisone in short burst is probably your best option. Maybe a two week pack, should eliminate swelling/pain. Also short term(6 months or shorter) prednisone doesn't have long term side effects.

Good luck, hope you get to feeling better soon. Take the TWO WEEK pack of Prednisone, you will feel much better. But of course check with you GP first, and make sure your liver can handle it.

If you do take it, have routine liver test while on it. |

Any updates? Best of luck Seek Rheumy care, if you already have 1 AI, and it smells like AI, it is probably AI issues (perhaps other un diagnosed AI's) For the record, Metho sucked balls 3 out of 4 weeks I was on it, so that was damn enough for me...but ever1 be different |

This thread has a couple of doctors on it and folks giving support. Everyone's basically agreeing now so that's cool. Keep us updated and don't give up.
