I'm a bit troubled by some of the things I'm hearing:
Hidetaka Miyazaki is only a "supervisor"
The game "will be more straightforward and more understandable,"
I smell a watered down cash in. I have gone from willing to line up at midnight to waiting to see what happens. Why the FUCK would you change it to go for the casuals? |

With luck, "more straightforward and understandable" means it will have a story more coherent than something shat out of a retarded monkey's ass... |

^ lol Yeah the story is definitely of secondary consideration with these games. But I actually kinda like that. It made the worlds and characters somewhat mysterious and enigmatic which just added to the feeling of desperation and complemented the difficulty. Or something. I really think they will make the next one significantly easier. This franchise has the potential to be a huge earner now and no amount of complaining from the hardcore element who endured Demon Souls blind back in 2009 is going to make any difference. Hope I'm wrong. |

Agreed - fuck all those pussies screaming for a pause button...but I think they're going to get one in the next game :-( I suspect the developers will try to have their cake and eat it too - maybe something along the lines of having a power-up you can use for temporary invincibility in the PvE part of the game, so you can whip tough monsters and bosses much more easily, but you get a 100 point achievement or gold trophy or some shit for beating the game and never using that... |

Hopefully, if they do include an 'easy mode', the players who play the game on the normal difficulty level are clearly demarcated and rewarded for doing so with respect to online play etc. Getting ganked by three turds who can't even play the game would be so annoying lol |

One thing we have to remember about From is that when Sony told them to make their next game easier they basically told them to fuck off and created the game they wanted. And that's why we have Dark Souls instead of Demon Souls II. |

Finally got around to playing the DLC. Wow those stone guardians hit hard. And I literally had my longest battle in trying to cut off Black Dragon Kalameet's tail for the obsidian sword. I haven't tried the arena yet, but I was hoping the DLC content had more areas.

lol...invading the kiln the other night, got ganked 2x by some noob and a couple sunbros. i was trying to fight with the 4pronged prow, which fucking sucks... go back to using murakamo, get invaded a few more times and aboiut a half hour goes by. i invade and enter the noobs world again, this time he tries to take me on first, the two sunbros are behind him but he clearly wants to get a few swipes in on his own, and clearly thinks he could take me on by himself. he gestures and gives me time to buff with CMW, then tries to run up and backstab me while my buff animation is still in progress. he tiems it wrong, and as soon as he gets into range i two hand the murakamo and destroy him in 3-4 shots. invade 5 mins later, and get him by himself panicking and trying to summon. hit him with a CSS then a running R1. dead. few minutes later i invade him again, and he has the 2 sunbros with him once again. i buff murakamo and they run up to surround me. (god bless the range on that sword) kill the first sunbro in few shots, then the host and other sunbro run up behind me. turn + stunlock them AT THE SAME TIME, get about 4 or so shots in, killing them both. sent a message to the host afterward... LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL N00B TRASH GETS TAKEN OUT 3X |

helwig its a lot easier than demons souls dude especially when you've played them in the right order. demons souls was clunkier too, multiplying the difficulty IMO. theres something "brighter" and "sunnier" in dark souls - its a much more lighthearted game. and as much as i miss some of the weapons from demons souls...i really think the range of "useable" weapons this time around makes the combat much more fun. you can have 10 matches back to back and most players will be using totally different armor/weapon builds |

I got through the bulk of Demon's using a maxed out winged spear. But I have been playing games my entire life and found the menu and weapon upgrade system VERY elitist and alienating. If I was unsure at times the pros/cons of which route to go with an item, I have to think a ton of less hardcore gamers were put the fuck off. I might have to eventually get Dark because I wanna use the PS3 more than I have been. But Demon's took a while to beat since I was by myself and didnt want to summon help. I really fucked up that Armor Spider, LOL. Got in it's face from the start. |

lol...bro if i remember correctly arent you staunchly against using the wikis and stuff too? as much as i respect the purity of your style....you should start brushing up on the dark souls wiki before you even get the game. the upgrade shit is deep but much easier to understand manage in dark souls as well... at the risk of sounding like a total faggot - DkSouls has the most rewarding swordplay in any game, ever. something mystical about the pvp in this game. also - if youre online, it will be borderline impossible to pass through certain levels without summoning help at first. theres an enchanted forest that may be one of the most heartless places in all of virtual reality |

Thanks for the tips^ Im not against using the built in summoning feature if youre hopelessly stuck. Same for looking at the wiki. I just cant stand 14 year old modern gaming faggots who piggyback on the work and exploring of others and read all the spoilers before even attempting things themselves and then use the shortcuts/best gear and act like they trounced the game. Thats NOT gaming. Might as well just youtube the cinema scenes and save the 60 bucks. I actually have an idiot friend who spoils smackdown by reading the results on tuesday. And then watches it on thursdays when it airs. And he does this because he knows it's recorded tuesdays and wants to know what happens to he can talk about it with people. Even though none of them can watch it til thursdays. Its the cancer of "instant gratification" that my generation who was raised by single moms and the internet is infected with. The time it takes to microwave a burrito(instead of a legit nutritious breakfast to start the day(gee wonder why Im tired and feel like shit?)) is crippling to us and gives us anxiety. BTW, FUCK the casual gamer. Oh I wanna horse around with the wii controller for 15 minutes before I get bored and wanna start a movie that I'll lose interest and not finish. Catering to people like that is feeding into the problem for a quick buck. |

I played through dark souls the first time without any help from wikis or summoning. I think I died about 30 times to the gargoyles and must've been hundreds to O and S.

I'll prob get to it next. Just finally got to Gears 3(disappointing story and gameplay) and now onto Hitman Absolution and MW3. Im way behind. Dark demands respect to play it seriously and by itself without any distractions. |
