Stupidnewbie - Huh? No, an AR was used in the shootings. The AR was found with Lanza. People in this thread have claimed that's impossible since they think the police found the AR in the car. Which makes no sense, but regardless, the AR wasn't the weapon found in the vehicle. It was a shotgun.

The medical examiner, on the other hand, insisted that the 'long rifle' was the means of death.

Is MSNBC insinuating that he had time to leave the school after shooting 27 people, put the rifle back in his car, and come back with 4 handguns?

Wes_Mantooth - It looks like there is corrosion on the bullet hole in the green car. That doesn't look like it happened recently.

the unpainted steel in cars corrodes RAPIDLY. A little surface rust in the rain like that isn't anything out of the ordinary. The fact there isn't mores, gives credibility to the recentness of it.

But that isn't unpainted steel. Cars used galvanized steel with a phosphate e coat and primer.

Plus, you'd see rust where the bullet pierced the metal, not on a couple spots that didn't contact the bullet.

A state Superior Court judge said Thursday that search warrant affidavits for the cars and home of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza and his mother would stay sealed for another 90 days.

The judge's order also covers the two other search warrants, for the 2010 Honda Civic Adam Lanza drove to the school and for Nancy Lanza's 2009 silver BMW, which was parked in the garage attached to the home.

"The court finds that due to the nature and circumstances of this case and the ongoing investigation, the state's interest in continuing nondisclosure substantially outweighs any right to public disclosure at this time," Blawie wrote.
