hellride - Bird could play in any era. He is the only NBA player to ever average 20 10 5 for their entire career. His shooting touch and quick hands would make him a star today..

Of all his awesome plays, I always thought his touch passes were the coolest thing.
Bullshit. Larry Legend was as athletic then as Phil Jackson is now. He'd get owned by any bench player in the league today. Phone Post

You pretty clearly don't know anything about basketball.
I've forgotten more about basketball than you'll ever know, rookie fuck Phone Post

Not if you think Larry Bird couldn't play in the NBA today. You exposed yourself as a fucking hoops noob.

Seriously Nader..

Dirk can win the MVP and you think Larry Legend would get owned by bench players? He was 5X the player that "Shut it down! Lets go Home!" is, and he did it from his rookie year on..

Bigger stronger faster and horribly unskilled, is what the NBA is made up of nowadays.

If you want an example of an awkward white boy that could ball, look at my man Bill Laimbeer. He was the vanilla Dwight Howard of the late 80's and early 90's and school'd Bird every time they met Phone Post

I know who Bill Laimbeer is, and no dude, he did not school Bird every time they met. He stuck his foot under larry every time he took a shot and tried to roll his ankle! If that is taking someone to school I must not understand BB.

The pistons won in 89 and 90, the tail end of Birds career. He was having health problems by then. Good team, but not on the level of the Lakers and Celtics of the mid 80's. White Dwight Howard my ass. You give Howard a lot of credit, that guy is garbage. He can't even make a jumper or free throw.

Cotton -

Nader don't want it again.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=son'd

I'm sure that it makes your fucking day to have been the one to tackle the very obvious intention of this thread and ride it into the vote up sunset.

Oh my lawd, Cotton owned me so hard. I'm so owned. I'm owned into Bolivian. Whatever will I do? Phone Post

The vote ups are just a bonus check. The real work is making you say insane shit like Larry Bird wouldn't make an NBA roster today or that all Dr. J could do was jump. I couldn't make shit up like that in my best troll attempt and you are 100% serious.

Seeing as it is basketball talk, it's not owned, it's son'd. I feel like Reggie Miller in the 4th quarter at MSG against you on these debates.

You got son'd and will continue to get son'd when you make absurd comments about great basketball players not being able to play in today's garbage NBA. You have a blindspot on your basketball knowledge. I just expose it for the entertainment for everyone else.

BTW, Laimbeer in his prime would be the #2 center in the NBA today, which shits on your own argument that some NBA players that played 20-30 years ago or more could play in the NBA today.

GTFOutta here, rookie. You don't have to make excuses for a Celtic team that was overflowing with hall of famers. They got burnt by the Pistons mainly because Laimbeer was dunking all over Larry Legend and Levin McHale. After Laimbeers 2nd windmill dunk in game 5 you could see tears flowing down into Birds mustache. Phone Post

John Stockton, Steve Nash, Bill Laimbeer, Dirk Nowvinski, Larry Bird, Kevin Love, Chris Mullin, Dan Majerle... The White Dream Team! It would be interesting to see their record in 2012-2013...

Billy Joe Rottoncrotch - Larry was great.

But Magic was better.

But I'm sure somebody already posted that.

Either way this thread is pretty cool.

Larry was better. They were roughly equal offensively but Larry was a better defensive player by a good margin.

Remember northern iowa? They made a deep run in march madness with the unathletic whiteboy squad. athleticism is just part of it. why is it lebron vanished in clutch time against the mavs while aryan warlord dirk had his way with miami? Was it dirks vertical?
