I bet the army helped his halfguard and becoming champion! I wonder if a broadcaster will tell us so! |

Kings21 -ChaosOverkill - What I want to know is, how good is Randy's clinch game? I wish someone out there would let us know. |

Joe accurately describes basically 100% of the ground game. But it must get frustrating to go through the details only to be forced to stop half-way and say: "he let it go" |

I'm going to throw this thread a live preserver and ask: Why didn't Junior ever really go for a deep half sweep as an escape when Cain was on top and riding him? Big Nog has shown to have a great deep half and sweeps and his best HW student showed nothing of the sort? |

I was wondering if anyone out there uses their wrestling to keep the fight standing like Chuck Liddel.

He was talking about Randy being on top in half guard and how a lot of wrestlers prefer to step into a guys half guard instead of staying past it in side control. |

"Big Nog has shown to have a great deep half and sweeps and his best HW student showed nothing of the sort?" Nog doesnt train with him as much as people think. JDS got his blackbelt from his original coach Yuri Carlton |

Why wasn't there any oil checking in JDS/Cain 2? It could have changed matters.

Cain Velasquez's striking precision was precise. BTW I rewatched Cain's first fight in the UFC yesterday and guess how Mike and Kenny pronounce his name? Kaaeen like you'd pronounce Kind but with e in the end |

He likes to use that dirty boxing, push him against the cage, and impose his will. Reminiscent of hall of famer Randy "the natural" Couture.

The Mammoth - I was wondering if anyone out there uses their wrestling to keep the fight standing like Chuck Liddel.Forget who told me but I hear Chuck used his wrestling in reverse. For example, he would do a takedown but ** backwards ** thus leaving himself standing. It is this "reverse" wrestling that few other fighters have ever mastered. The trick is to become really good at takedowns first and then do a takedown except ** do the opposite of normal *** Another strength of Chuck is that he had that look in his eyes.
