Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet. Among several main characters, FRESH features urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, the recipient of MacArthur’s 2008 Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur, Joel Salatin, made famous by Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma; and supermarket owner, David Ball, challenging our Wal-Mart dominated economy."

you are more than welcome SD, I just want people to know there is another way

you can grind your own wheat and make bread

you can grow your own soft fruits and make jams with them, dehydrate them, or eat them fresh

you can pick your own pears and dehydrate them, eat them

or make your own wine with it

grow your own sunflowers and make a snack or use them for chicken feed

make your own sauces, chutneys, pickles or just store tomatos

hit up your apple tree

and combine them with dehydrated strawberries, and local honey

and cover with fresh ground flour and butter to make a crisp

raise your own chickens

take them to slaughter

and smoke them the same day

raise your own pigs, I know people who raise them in a 10x10 pen in their garage

and combine them with the chickens and potatos you grew and have a awesome breakfast

or pick some corn and carrots and make a awesome meal with the ham you made from the pigs

or make some sauerkraut, potatos, pork roast and ham for a traditional new years day meal with fresh homemade butter

like the woman said in the vid, make sure your food has a name, take control of your food people
