With the UFC trying to expand to foreign markets, signing Josh would be a smart move. TTT for the Warmaster You have ignored this user.

This. I came on here to bash Barnett and say he has no place in the UFC since he's pissed hot on multiple occasions, has been unapologetic about it, single handedly killed an organization, and has openly endorsed steroid abuse. But, I can't take away that he is a skilled individual, with or without the juice. Plus I'd love to see him get raped by some of the current HW's. Mitrione would be a good start.

Agree with everything except the last sentence.

He has failed multiple tests for steroids, lied about it multiple times, to my knowledge still hasn't admitted his guilt, and has thrown it in DW's and UFC's face since it happened and has been completely unremorseful. Basically said FU to everyone including the fans.

He has talent but belongs in the WWE where his ego and sterioid use can go unchecked. Too many chances for him and the UFC doesn't need him anymore like they may have in the past. Just my opinion; not bashing.

Why don't you agree that Barnett vs. Mitrione would be a good fight?

Dazednconfused - In. I would be amazed if they don't sign Barnett. Regardless of what's happened in the past they should be signing the top ranked fighters if they want credibility.

Make no mistake that the UFC wants to retain and build on any credibility they currently enjoy.

Signing a repeat and unrepentant steroid abuser like Barnett is a quick way to lose that credibility, and you can bet that the executives at FOX have already made that point to DFW.

I would be very, very surprised to see Barnett in the UFC any time soon, if at all.

You guys do know this has very little to do with his positive tests right?

I think its more to do with how Barnett used to be in high demand as one of the best heavies out there, and how he used that in negotiations. But now, outside the ufc there are no heavies except him. He has hinted that he's ready to play by the ufc's rules in past interviews. I think josh looked around and seen zero money fights left outside the ufc.

Signing him would also prevent belletor or even a regional show from using Barnett to build their own hw stable. Monson is a mercenary, seems to fight one fight contracts, Fedor is gone, bellator has a few guys, but no names.... however if they got to Barnett they could sell him as the guy ufc was afraid of...
