yellow wrkahlc -Pretty cool that the African American is prevailing with Django Unchained ad in the back and on the mat as he is finishing Stephens.

Great thread! One thing to notice in a lot of these gifs is that the punch isn't so much "short" in many cases, rather the person on the receiving end moves forward into the punch. That is to say, the punch was thrown as a "normal" punch but the opponent moved into it, reducing the distance. In those cases it is very effective because the opponent does not "see" the punch and their forward motion is compounded with their body weight and the force of the strike. Not trying to be critical. In fact, this might be what most people are defining as a short punch. To me, a short punch is a strike delivered from an already somewhat extended arm or a strike thrown when the opponent is within clinch range. Just my interpretation of the phrase. But anyway...this a great thread and awesome GIFs! |

@ dhughes, very true. Some of these punches aren't as short as people originally perceived them to be when suggesting them. LOL@Django.

Carwin punches strangely man. He just turns his fist and his elbow in such an awkward way. Look at that gnp on Mir. Wtf son. Anyways,I agree with drhughes and wrkahlc, when i said short punches i didn't mean non-haymakers,cuz that would be lots of punches. For example i don't see Hendo KO-ing Fedro as a short punch at all. Hendo loaded up on that shiet. And lol at Django. |

OnlyTheStrongSurvive -yellow wrkahlc -Thanks, I have no clue how that ko'd him Just another case of a well-placed, perfectly timed punch. Michael Johnson got his shit rocked in the first two minutes of that fight, funny as hell.

yellow wrkahlc -I know! I can remember watching it and wondering why Castillo wasn't being more aggressive to go for the finish on the ground, he seemed pretty content to to just maintain control for the remainder of the round.OnlyTheStrongSurvive -yellow wrkahlc -Thanks, I have no clue how that ko'd him
