Hey thanks for depriving the sport of seeing of alverez' is one of the p4p best,Bjork. Wasting the prime of a great fighter because you have a inferiority complex. This is like University of Flordia suing Tebow for graduating. Let's just ruin a mans life and potential legacy because you can't be happy with being an important part and strong pillar of the industry. You hafta be fool hearty and act as if your promotion is "closing in on" or "on a level playing field" with the UFC. I love mma and Bellator is an important promotion in the current state of fight game,but it's not like the have the PRIDE MWGP on thier roster. They have their own that they're promoting and doing it well. Bellator is the reason that we know Eddie,B-Rog,shelmenko,Lombard,chandler and so many others better than we did before. Bellator has its place in mma and the only way they could eclipse the UFC is by letting go. If Eddie and Lombard could win gold in the worlds largest promotion,wouldn't that lead you to believe that Bellator is a true proving ground and not a 3rd tier promotion like mfc where cans go to be crushed? If Alverez finished Bendo in his first outing in the UFC,semi fresh out of Bellator,how much of a killer would Chandler look like then? How tough would Bellator's tourneys get credited to being? Do yourself a favor Mr.Rebny sir. Do the sport of mma and the pages of history a favor,Bjorn and let Eddie go. Do the right thing. /rant

Bellator is great.I love their shows.Besides UFC they are possible the best show out there.OK but UFC is the biggest show by far.It be like having a solid NBA player play in the developmental league.Alvarez should have been in the UFC 5 years ago.They are clearly holding his career back.Once the UFC calls a fighter should be allowed to fight for them |

yomamafool - How dare bjorn try to compete with the ufc and hold onto his biggest starsHere's the thing. They will always be his starts in a certain light. If they are successful,they make Bellator look better. Just by letting a few go to the majors,will help evaluate his promotion by doing the one thing short of co-promotion. Who's to say Bellator can't become better than the UFC by their homegrown stars winning everywhere else while the promotion builds stars by staying up on the prospects like they should. Continue signing international talent like shelmenko and others as they have been for the past 5 seasons along with NCAA div 1-4 wrestlers and american BJJ kids along with getting some wayward UFC vets and mishaps ( Todd Duffee during his hiatus for example) and then while they have the momentum,get their former champs who might be current UFC champs/contenders back under contract and that would absolutely solidify Bellator as a top world promotion. These are BIG ifs. With Viacom,Bellator can very well rival the UFC,but the right moves have to be made.

Neil Funk - This is a bullshit thread. Bjorn's working in the best interests of his company.I think Rebny is short sighted. He needs to be looking at the bigger picture for his business. Eddie winning in the UFC is like Eddie winning in the UFC with a Bellator logo on his shorts. Zuffa owns no footage of Eddie. Do you think the vtr, countdown to UFC1XX and Primetime episodes leading up to his immediate title shot will just be footy of him in the UFC soundstage with the heavy bag and chains hanging from the cellings? No. It will be unavoidable to use Bellator footage of him fighting.

LOL@ this thread! Bjorn is doing his job like he is supposed to. If you were Bellator investors would you think it was OK for Bjorn to "let" Eddie go to the #1 show when he is one of your biggest stars??? I wouldn't. And I would expect Bjorn to do all he could to protect my investment- win or lose, right or wrong. *grabs popcorn* We're about to find out how well this guy handles stress. IMO, he needs to continue to conjure up his inner DW like he's been doing, toss out a few vlogs until folks believe he is DW (well, at least from behind), and then create a reality show just like DW! Oh wait... lol! Just let the guy do his job and enjoy the fireworks;)
