I've been a member of the UG forums for a couple of weeks now and I've already managed an account lock once. From what I've gathered: Avoid downvotes- -Don't form a singular opinion -Don't dispute the majority opinion -Don't have an opinion -Don't type -Don't use the forums Get upvotes- -Do post Gifs -Do side with the majority regardless of how you feel -Do post memes instead of saying something relevant -Do give other people down votes for not posting Gifs or memes or sharing your opinion. This just seems to be the way it's worked since I've been here. I'm hoping that these rules are subject to change, as I enjoy posting my opinion and opening myself up to an intelligent conversation, rather then no longer being able to post due to somebody's rage boner.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with most of your points. I have no issue voicing my opinion. Sometimes its nice, sometimes its not. Sometimes its critical and sometimes its praise. My main goal has been to not give a fuck about vote ups or vote downs. If I dont agree with someone then I say so. If I agree with someone, I say so. I even give troll responses now and then and I have yet to get my account locked. My question to you Sir, is this: What have you done to get your account locked? I'm guessing you went too far with an opinion by way of being vulgar and verbally abusive. Maybe I'm wrong. I dont know, but a trend that I've seen here on this forum has been that many people get their accounts locked because they're being a complete dumbass and then come back and make threads bitching about free speech and all that. |

At which point I was told to kill myself and was downvoted into a lock. Didn't seem to far out there at the time.

Note that this isn't a complaint about freedom of speech or how people choose to use their thumbs/keyboards. This is simply an introspective at how the ability of others to lock your account due to a difference of opinion is somewhat ridiculous. I planned on buying a blue name after testing the waters, but at this time don't see a return of investment when an open dialogue can quickly turn into a frozen account. And yes, my vagina is chafed.

The vu/vd system is flawed and to be honest, very pointless. I do however find it amusing someone voted me up in this thread though. Anyways, VD's seem like its just a way for mods to avoid any actual modding and puts their job in the hands of trolls (the bad ones, not the greats like SC) and hormonal 15 year olds who can't handle a difference of opinion. Their way of dealing with these things is to either call you a fag or vote you down. You should look into douching you vag, bro. |
