Obviously alot of us would love for these two to be matched up next to fight eachother, however, when looking at their fight careers, which of them do you feel has the better resume?

Mir has much bigger highs and lows, but is the greater of the two. Mir also never failed a drug test, but Barnett never lost to Brandon Vera

Mir
For all the hate the guy gets, Mir has faced MUCH stiffer competition than Barnett has for the last half-decade. Sergei is Barnett's only significant win since ekeing out a decision over Big Nog back in 2006 (which Nog later avenged). |

Mir has had a fucking rough career. The kind not many get back on top during. He did. That dude got his neck stomped on,his leg snapped, snapped Timmy's arm,got dinosaur hog fucked by that dinosaur hog of man Lesnar, after he tapped him out while he was getting dinosaur hog fucked by Lesnar the first time, punched Cup Chiek clear across the cage and dashed over to throw 2 strikes before realizing to throw on a choke in like 11.4 seconds,CinderBlock fist wouldn't trade with him in the center of the cage so he got the front and back of his head beat in the clinch with some of the largest and simultaneously fastest hands I've ever seen in Shane Carwin,TKO staph Nog and got beat up by nog only to engage in some of the most beautiful BJJ transitions ive ever seen in a heavyweight match and snap Big Nog's arm like he was opening a pickle jar and then it took the phenom JDS 2 rounds to TKO a still very much no ko'd Mir,when his fanboys here were debating the order In which he was to decapitate the rest of the UFC HW division. Yeah,Mir is not a Legend. Whatevs.

Mir IMO: Most wins ever in UFC HW Division Most subs ever in UFC HW Division 2 time UFC HW Champ Last 5 years wIns over Nog (twice),Nelson, CroCop, Brock, Kongo, Hardonk losses to Carwin, JDS, Brock
Barnett: UFC HW Champ HW King of Pancrase PRIDE OWGP finalist (2nd place) SF HW GP finalist (2nd place)
Last 5 years wins over Guilmino, Khartionov, Rogers, Dos Santos, Mighty Mo, Yvel, Rizzo, Monson, Yoshida Loss to Cormier
Mir has fought significantly tougher competition the last 5 years. edit: added Barnett's King of Pancrase to this post per mention in Much Respect's next post. Apologies for overlooking that...it's for sure a huge accomplishment. |

Wasn't Barnett a Pancrase champ? Didn't he also win a BJJ world title? FWIW Josh has a better record (9 more wins for the same amount of losses) and while Frank beat the ghost of Mirko and Josh managed to drop 3 to Pride Mirko (literally half the Warmaster's losses are to CroCop). Frank has some very bad losses on his record; Ian Freeman, Brandon Vera. Josh stopped prime Randy (and I don't want to hear about 'steroids' when Randy's test results were NEVER made public, Josh's test results were released only AFTER he didn't come to terms with Zuffa over money). Whatever I saw the fight, a teenaged Josh beat Randy down. Period. Not that any of it matters; Mir will win this poll based on being a Zuffa company man and spending his entire career fighting for the UFC (where his career has been expertly handled). Where as Josh, who wasn't personal pals with the Zuffa brass, ran afoul of them over money a decade ago and sought his fortune abroad. I'd like to know who's made more money personally, I think that's a factor as well but there truely is no way to know that. |

I would say Mir is the more accomplished fighter.Although he has some bad losses, he has alot of good wins and has been fighting the best consistently while Barnett has not over the past 6 years.

Frank Mir, hands down. Barnett has a chance to top him when he arrives in the UFC, but until then, Mir is the more accomplished. |

Neil Funk - Josh Barnett. If Mir never got in that accident who knows, but for now it's Barnett. What exactly are Barnett's accomplishments that are superior to Mir's? |

Barnett...
PRIDE...
I'd hate to be a fighter around Mir's age and not know what it was like fighting for the best MMA organization of ALL TIME.

Mir . He's fought and won and fought in lost.. but either way, he fought the better fighters in a higher caliber tier of MMA. I'm sorry to those PRIDE fans but let's face facts, there are only a handful of what one would consider top tier talent that spent most of their career fighting in PRIDE. For every 1 PRIDE highly talented fighter, there are 6 that don't even make the UFC undercard talent wise. Barnett could have been the best, fighting the best in the world, but he didn't ... As far as this thread goes, BARNETT stoped BARNETT from being considered one of the best, let alone better than Mir. Mir may not be the best in the world, but he's won the most highly touted Championship in the world, And his game is more respectable with different areas that he can beat you with. And plus, what ref wears headphones and isn't a company man??
