RCP - I was waiting for this thread...Agreed, such a strange story. If the staff and board new his story was bullshit, then it should get interesting. Going along with something like that is greasier than what happened at USC during Carrol's years or any other booster program that lead to NCAA penalties. Saying a young girl was dead, what the shit.

awesomestprime - cliff notes?Manti Teo (Notre Dame Heisman Trophy runner up) had an uplifting story where he had a monster game against highly ranked Mich St early in the season, right after finding out his grandma and long time girlfriend had died. The narrative went all season long and money was raised to fight leukemia, what his gf died of. Today, it comes out this girl never existed. At all. It was all fake.

Hopefully this is a case of going by the wrong name, maybe she had a different legal name than what she went by, and that's why they can't find her records. I say "hopefully" and I'm an SC fan who has a lot of reason to hate ND and T'eo. But I cannot think some people would be so depraved as to make something like this up. |

I know who Te'o is. And I know of his girlfriend with cancer. It's very hard to believe the entire notre Dame athletic dept. (and players) would go along with a hoax of this nature. What's the reason it's believed to be "faked". |

He seems to know the guy that was behind the fake account so that doesn't look good for him. I thought maybe it was some weird fan catfishing him but if you read the article it doesn't look that way. |
