Perhaps it's too soon and very unfair, but me thinks the imaginary gf was just a fuckin beard. No pro football player has ever come out of the closet, and add in his Mormon family and Catholic university. Maybe they started asking him about not having a girl, and they came up with this idea. Just dumb speculation.

1 of 2 things happened here: he's gay and wanted a cover up or he fell in love with a girl but Brian Kelly murdered her like he did that other guy and this whole thing was some weird coping mechanism |

I guess, if you're as mormon as Teo claims to be, and as busy as he must be, it might be possible to have only 1 or 2 real meetings with someone and then be "tricked" into thinking you're interacting with her on twitter and be ok with that level of interaction with the "love of your life." Mormons do get married quick and easy, and they certainly don't fuck beforehand. Its still ridiculously implausible though. By far the simplest explanation is that he fabricated the relationship to get publicity. |

If this is true, this guy has to go undrafted. What kind of character issues does this bring up? |

lol @ the damage control ND and T'eo are doing on this. Its pathetic and transparent. "We found out Dec 26th, but continued to let the media push the story up until the NC game because....uh...why?" |

Te'o issued a statement Tuesday afternoon: "This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and I grew to care deeply about her. "To realize that I was the victim of what was apparently someone's sick joke and constant lies was, and is, painful and humiliating. "It further pains me that the grief I felt and the sympathies expressed to me at the time of my grandmother's death in September were in any way deepened by what I believed to be another significant loss in my life. "I am enormously grateful for the support of my family, friends and Notre Dame fans throughout this year. To think that I shared with them my happiness about my relationship and details that I thought to be true about her just makes me sick. I hope that people can understand how trying and confusing this whole experience has been. "In retrospect, I obviously should have been much more cautious. If anything good comes of this, I hope it is that others will be far more guarded when they engage with people online than I was. "Fortunately, I have many wonderful things in my life, and I'm looking forward to putting this painful experience behind me as I focus on preparing for the NFL Draft." |

As a Te'o nuthugger from Hawaii, I just read that whole thing and am floored... I followed the story all year and that article floored me, lol, but there is so much detail in it its pretty much a slam dunk, the girl never existed, ESPN, CBS, etc all QUOTED HER ON NATIONAL TV WITH PICTURES, what hacks, lol... His dad teven talked about talking to her on the phone Manti invented her brother whoa...
IMO, there is no way he isnt in on it, he made up so many details about their conversations and meetings to be duped - amazing stuff
the mainstream media seems to have just ran everything based on the South Bend newspapers reporting
Polynesians are a higher % than normal homosexual, I'm just saying... |

WOW. Either way, still hard to believe this happened. Even if he does get drafted as high as predicted, every player he goes up against is going to light him up for being duped by a fake online girlfriend. |
