Why doesn't Bellator have to report the earnings of fighters after an event like the UFC? Is it because of the state's commission? Thanks for the answer! |

They have been reported before. Reporters and online websites get that information from state athletic commissions. However a lot of times Bellator has events on Indian reservations and I don't think they are subject to as much oversight and regulation. Here's a report on fighter salaries for Bellator 66: http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2012/04/bellator-66-salaries-alvarez-100k-aoki-60k-earn-top-fighter-paydays |

Perhaps it just isn't a headline the day after an event like the UFC. Thanks for that link man! |

Its normally because of where they hold events. We never see fighters salaries, gate and attendance figures or drug testing info from Bellator events. Can anyone show me an article stating Bellator fighters were event tested and came back clean? I cant recall a single Bellator fighter ever popping for any PED or drugs, do they even get tested? Bellator info is always in the dark it seems. Maybe now that they are bigger and on Spike shit will be released more. I did see the attendance and gate numbers for the event came out. Attendance and Gate Bellator 85 held at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California unofficially drew 4,570 in attendance for a $138,446 gate. Of those in attendance, 2,570 were paid and about 2,000 were comps. The average paid ticket price was around $54 per ticket. These numbers have not been made official yet by the CSAC, so we will release those as soon as we get them. At this stage, Bellator is clearly meant to be a TV product, and the most important thing for them is to get fans to come out to their events to provide a great event atmosphere for Spike TV. We also must take into account that the events are being held on Thursday nights, so booking smallish venues and filling them up should be the goal here for Bellator to provide a good TV product. Of course, as Bellator grows, expect attendance and gate numbers to grow as well, but for now expectattendance numbers between 1K-5K with a gate between $100K to $200K. |

Never seen anything about Bellator drug tests, but I imagine any fight that's regulated by an athletic commission they have drug tests done. I don't know if they test the fighters when they have those fights on the Indian reservations and casinos. |

I'm sure I will, but I don't want to see another post about low pay in the UFC (Zuffa should pay more because they can afford to) after scanning this Bellator pay report (owned by Viacom). $700/$700 in 2012??? GTFO!
The full Bellator 66 payouts included:

Pay should be based on revenue Cindy-O- With that metric, Bellator IS paying FAR more than the UFC, as a % of revenue. |

CindyO -To be honest those numbers are higher than I expected to see. Of course im sure there's no huge locker room bonuses and otn bonuses like ufc.TheVileOne - They have been reported before. It's ridiculous to hate on Bellator for their pay considering how low their profile is compared to the UFC. The UFC is a massive behemoth compared to Bellator, yet pays their guys peanuts compared to other pro athletes.

I was on that card and a lot of people on the under card weren't signed Bellator fighters and local fighters / ticket sellers. Therefore we're paid based on their record and drawing presence. most aren't bellator contracted fighters
