Possible mentions of joining other orgs? IE Bellator...

Dana would hit the fucking roof.

I don't think Dana is gunna sweat rampage leaving. The organization won't crumble if he leaves and goes to another promotion. Phone Post

They talked about this topic a bit on the Co-Main Event podcast. It's really an interesting situation. I think win or lose you have to let him talk. He's a pretty well known fighter and a lot of MMA fans have been following him forever. So hopefully he gets a proper send off either way. Phone Post

Of course.

Besides, to me, this is all posturing.

Rampage will fight again in the UFC, no doubt in my mind.

Maybe he goes elsewhere for a while, and then realizes that it is not so bad in the UFC.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Whether he goes to boxing, Bellator, or wherever, he'll end up fighting in the UFC again (which I don't mind, I'm a fan) Phone Post

Wasn't it Tito vs Machida that after which, Tito was supposed to leave and most likely end up in Strikeforce?

Anyway, int he build up to that fight, and during the event they repeatedly mentioned it was Tito's last fight in the UFC etc. Almost as if he was retiring, which he clearly wasn't.

They kept on it as if to make sure if Tito DID win and DID mention anything, it was like he was being forced out instead of walking away.

I expect a similar strategy just in case Rampage wins. If he loses, it will be the "Oh well, it was his last fight anyway..." and if he wins it will be "What a great performance to end his UFC career. A true warrior, blah blah blah..." as if it's his retirement.

Either way, the UFC won't be hurt, and though Rampage is a big name, once he is gone, not many "casual" fans will still know he is fighting. Only the veteren MMA fans, and the idiots that think Bellator is in fact the UFC will notice his switching of orgs.

That reminds me of that live nation ticket company that had all MMA events billed as "UFC". Phone Post
