I went with the 5mg dose. yeah, it will fuck with you for a while. some people more than others. i run calls on people that ran out & went batty, doing strange ass shit. made my gf get off of them. I told her to it the right way & consult with a doc, but she just went cold turkey (without telling me). went fucking NUTS!!!! take it slow |

been about 7 days of tapering from 10mg to 5mg...2-3 rough days with some pretty bad diarrhea and general feelings of restlessness and foggy thinking (example: I gave a client my dad's cell phone on accident). Considering making the next taper to 2.5 tonight... |

I'm open to suggestions though and it seems like most if the folks here are suggesting a slower taper. Will keep it under advisement.

I understand wanting to get it over with, but consider going slower. It'll be easier on you. But it's kind of like a bandaid - rip it off quickly and hurts more but it's over sooner, or slower with less difficulty but it takes longer. It's a miserable enough experience, I don't know if getting it over sooner is worth it but I know how it is when you just want to get off of it. Either way, good luck and hang in there. |

Tapered again. 2.5 now. Weirdness diarrhea returns. Lifting and cardio like crazy to keep my mental state up. Fish oil 4 times a day.

About 10 days after tapering to 2.5mg. I felt pretty normal the first 7-8 days but this weekend it all came down at once Yesterday: Massive migraine that nothing could touch; waves of the "uncanny" feeling. Today: just awful. Vague headache. Fatigue. Bleaaaaaaaaaah.

Great for you getting off that stuff. It does strange things to your mindset. Someone close to me was on a megadose of Effexor (300 mg/day - try to look up the documented side effects of that dose - I bet you can't) up until recently. It has some nasty side effects. She has noticed some real positive changes in her outlook and general motivation for life since she kicked it. Take your time, taper off, keep track of all the things you notice.
