Hahaha - I love the delusion that beating on scrubs in the minor leagues is a greater achievement than 5 consecutive wins in the UFC.

W.T.F. - delusional.

It's the idea of a Champion vs Champion fight, not so much who's had the bigger wins. A clash of two champions, kinda sells itself in a way. Plus Weidman is hurt, out until I think summer, so they can definitely get this fight rolling sooner with Luke. It makes little to no sense to hold out until Weidman heals up. Phone Post

Yes, but Melendez has been a consensus 1-3 ranked lightweight for years now

LOL at a split decision over Josh Thompson and decision over Masvidal in the past 1.5 years making him top 3. Melendez has beat 1 top 10 guy in the last 5 years and that was Aoki. Take a look at the top 20 fighters. How many has Melendez beat?

Also, it has nothing to do with it. Dana made it clear that the reason Rousey is the champ in the UFC is because she was the champ in SF. Diaz got an immediate title shot. Melendez is getting an immediate shot. There was talk of Marquardt getting an immediate shot before he lost a couple weeks ago (his interviews of him gladly fighting GSP). I don't agree with it but if the UFC wants to make this a pattern, it's not fair to Rockhold to stop it now.

He should not get an immediate title shot. Silva and his camp would love to fight him because it is a good matchup for him. It is the closest thing to a gimme that they can get. Same old story, Silva's camp are cool with favorable matchups that lack merit, but complain about the matches that make the most sense because they may actually stand a chance. I agree with Rockhold that a fight with Belfort would make sense.

I realize that Rockhold beat him, but Jacare appears to have improved considerably since then. I think he would have a very good shot at subbing Silva, and his striking actually looks pretty good now as well. You have ignored this user.
