I see tons of posts saying 'I used to be a huge fan of Rampage until now' anybody not been a fan from before he crossed zuffa? he just always came off as a bully to me, both to men and women, not terribly intelligent, extremely immature with horrible attitude, just somebody who could fight well but not a likable role model in any shape way or form |

Depends what your priorities in a role model are.
If you're a black kid looking at someone that escaped the hell of poverty Rampage despite his flaws is a good one.
If you're a hardcore Christian who wants to look up to someone that follows literal bible values Matt Hughes who a lot of people dislike is a good one or you |

He always came to fight, and put on a show for the fans, no reason to dislike him. Nver gave two shits about the mtv drama side of mma. I feel that is a womens job. |

I was never a fan of him as a person but I was a fan of him as a fighter, key word "was". |

he was easier to like when he was actually performing in the cage. |

I used to love Rampage, but his lack of work ethic, complaining, and boring style since he filmed the movie have made it impossible for me to like him.

Never liked him from the beginning. I never thought he was all that funny though I did admire that he was able to joke around and not be serious all the time. I'm neither black nor a christian. Just never liked the guy much but I'll watch him slam Ricardo Arona all fuckin day. Later in his career he became too predictable in his fights and all the bitching about dudes not wanting to stand with him got old really quick. But yea, from the beginning I never really cared for him. Didnt hate him, just didnt care for him. Still dont hate him tbh though. |

Whole lot of old schoolers joined this forum awfully late. I wonder how many people here were watching since Day 1. |

Used to like watching him fight when he could pick up and slam the little japanese guys, but have never been a fan of his personality or his goofy walkout with the chain and howling. After he finally beat Wandy he hasn't been worth watching, and his appearance on TUF was just embarassing. |

rrefs - I was never a fan of him as a person but I was a fan of him as a fighter, key word "was". I can't really be a fan of a fighter if I'm not a fan of them as a person, not that I can't appreciate the technique of two people locked in the cage beating each other up for our entertainment then again that depends on how you define 'fan' |

How is it relevant for some of you how a fighter acts outside the cage , he's not funny enough ?

I liked him as a fighter back in the day, but, yeah, he's always been classless in his treatment of fans; the footage of him acting a fool in Japan really changed my mind. |

wiggum - Whole lot of old schoolers joined this forum awfully late. Did you start watching MMA on 2/17/03? Pull your head out of your ass and you might see that a join date on a forum isnt the sole indicator of ones timeline for being a fan. |

Kings21 -wiggum - Whole lot of old schoolers joined this forum awfully late. Of course not. And there are no individual accusations there. But there are some group ones. Rampage fought Sakuraba in 2001. There were 11 people before my post discussing their feelings on Rampage since day one. For a long time, this and Sherdog were essentially the only places online to discuss MMA. That 11 people watched Rampage since 2001 but ALL joined this forum after 2008 - well, that would be strange. |

wiggum -Kings21 -wiggum - Whole lot of old schoolers joined this forum awfully late. My point is that I was watching MMA (pride and UFC) long before I ever decided to make an account for sherdog. After getting totally sick of sherdog years later I made an account here. So I just find it a little silly to assume that someone has or hasnt watched Rampage since day one based on their join date on this or any other forum. I also maybe made a total of like 10 posts on sherdog during my time here and I didnt realyl start posting here much until way after I created my account and lurked well before I created it. I understand where you're comin from but its just a popular way to jump on someone and discount the amount of time they've been a fan. |
