Good win by mighty mouse. But, the fledgling division is going to get the axe. The casual fan has already dismissed the division. The diehards will start very soon. There isn't enough depth at Flyweight right now. Time to scrap.

If they let them fight women at that weight there is plenty of talent.

Mighty Mouse vs. Rousey, if Rousey can make weight.

False. Did 3.77 million viewers, slightly better than Henderson vs Diaz and much better than Shogun vs Vera. Fans seem to have enjoyed that fight and are finally giving them a chance and realizing they are entertaining. I haven't seen a bad flyweight fight yet.

Fan of every fighter in flyweight division, no fighter bashing but there was some much talked about heavyweight gassing on the undercard, is that it for them as well? Phone Post

Yeah I hope I'm wrong. But, IMO the top tier of the division is stuck. MM vs McCall III, or MM vs Benevidez II, or Benevidez vs McCall II? Dodson looked pretty good, but I'd pick the other 3 to beat him. What's left? McCall vs Jussier da Silva 2? Maybe Tim Elliot can get in the mix, or smaller BW guys can drop and contend.

It's not really that thin. Of course the Benavidez/McCall winner will probably get the next shot but there's also Moraga, Uyenoyama, Gaudinot, and Lineker.

Also I'm guessing they will sign Josh Sampo soon since he recently got back-to-back wins over Antonio Banuelos and Alexis Vila outside the UFC.

I don't see them ditching the division, but they won't be headlining PPV's that's for sure.

I do not understand the narrow minded dislike of the smaller divisions.

The fastest moving, highly technical, best gas-tank divisions.

A good scrap is a good scrap, it is not in any way dependent upon the size of the competitors.

Because, the reality is, they aren't the best fighters.

The disguised fighter bashing is out of control.

If this was about HW's it would cause bedlam

The final ratings will no doubt extend the gap over Henderson vs Diaz also.

While I'm not a fan of the 125 division (I'm a just bleed guy at heart), it's not a big deal really.

They are talented but the division needs some serious depth.

Shit bantamweight and featherweight can use more depth as well. Phone Post

I thought it was a great fight and really enjoyed it. Girl I was watching with spent a lot of time mocking their size (she is 5'8). So while I liked the fight, I did also spend a good amount of it listening to a "casual fan" making fun of it. Even said the way Dodson punches looked "cute".

I hope OP is wrong but based on last night I can't say he's completely full of shit myself. Just that the only fans it would cost the UFC/MMA are ones we wouldn't likely miss.

So much disrespect for the flyweight division on here. It sucks cuz these guys trane their heart out & give a 100% effort in the cage. I myself enjoy the fast pace & tenacity of these guys.

A lot of truth here.

Watching the the fighters walk out was even kind of funny. The 2 least intimidating guys were the ones fight for the WORLD TITLE.

I know that means nothing to us, but trust me, casual people watching kid size men walking out with big ass security are gonna call bullshit, whether they are right or wrong.

Sampo, Dustin Ortiz and Brandon Hempleman are names to pay attention to as prospects outside the UFC, who may be brought in sooner rather than later. Also, I expect them to bring Antonio Banuellos and Will Campuzano back STAT.

The flyweight division's just getting started. If BLAF thought otherwise, he wouldn't have a title fight headline a Fox card.
