RLL - Tazers being used to enforce immediate compliance when someone is not a danger to others or themselves should be criminal. Actually, in most jurisdictions the TASER or Dart Firing Stun Gun generic equivalent is supposed to be used at the point during a police encounter when police can articulate that the person is either actively resisting by at least pulling, pushing, tensing or bracing and that efforts to grapple with them will likely result in injuries to the suspect or officers. That is where the "danger" comes in. Important to remember that the TASER works best from a range of 7-15 feet and that it is designed for control more than self defense. It was never intended to be a substitute for deadly force although the reputation of it being used to subdue armed suspects took it in that direction with the media. |

You can thank attorneys for that one.awesomestprime -Its legal to arrest someone for refusing to sign a speeding ticket?BigMike77 - The signing if a ticket is not acknowledgement of guilt. It merely means you agree to appear before a judge to address the charge. If you do not sign you can be taken into custody to ensure appearance before a judge. Posting bail is another form of guarantee where the bond company ensures your appearance. If you dont sign it creates a shit sandwich for authorities and forces them to arrest. Most musdeameanors can be cite on scene, sign and walk. Asshole factor trumps that and forces arrest. My public service for the day for the criminal inclined on the OG.
