http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Au8kZdNdFU This song was playing when I pulled up to my Nona's house when I discovered her dead from a small house fire that burned itself out. I dont know if it will make me cry bc I havent listened to it since that day. Im sure it would though. |

Too many to list, really... maybe I'm just sentimental. A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke. Castles Made of Sand by Jimi Hendrix. Weightless by Chris Whitley. In My Life by The Beatles. Lay Down Your Weary Tune by Bob Dylan. Miss Otis Regrets by Ella Fitzgerald. Surely by Black Dub. X-Ray by Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros About 30 or so songs by Sam and Dave and Otis Redding and a handful other of Stax artists.... And several instrumentals get to me more than any songs, probably. |

Rain by Breaking Benjamin - Song was played at a friend's funeral when we were 16. Mad World by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews - Played at my cousin's funeral when I was 18. Both ended their lives prematurely, and when I hear either song, I can't help but tear up. Also the song Why by Rascal Flats. I hate Rascal Flats with a passion, but my mom made me listen to that song, and every time it gets me because it makes me think of both my cousin and friend. |

Kind of surprised Red Sovine has been mentioned. But I have to agree that he had a knack for writing some sad ass songs. The first time I heard Roses for Mama I has to wander why anyone would ever willingly listen to a song that made you feel like that.

50/50 on Counting Crows - colorblind. Why? Cause I tell my wife if I die - I want that played at my funeral. And when I hear it - I think about how much I would miss my kids.

DiazsBongWater - Nutshell by Alice in chains is fuckin sadI used to play that live. This big scary dude came up to me after my set and I thought he was going to kill me. He gave me a hug and said he hadn't listened to that song since his brother committed suicide.
