OK

So me and a friend of mine trane together at the gym. Weights we focus on while together. However although my friend tranes hard and eats as much as he can he can not put on weight. So i thought I would ask here about best training/diet regimes for him to stop him turning to supplements.

Any advice would be much appreciated. My vote ups will go to any helpful individuals. :) Phone Post

have three large meals a day with a lot of protein. Protein shake after you've trained and eat every two hours to keep metabolism flowing.

You will see a huge difference in six months if you're eating like that and training correctly.

Yeah he's either not eating enough or hasn't been eating that much for long enough. IMO bananas, oatmeal, protein powder and 2 pieces of toast with PB on them. God i love bulking.

Eat at a minimum of a 500 calorie surplus and get 1g of protein per 1lb of body weight per day. Get at least 8 hours sleep.

Everyone thinks that they eat enough, he needs to track his food and count his calories and macros.

Depends on how big you want to get. For example Alistair Overeem eats about 9 meals a day.

9 meals a day will bulk you up alone. Eating plenty, Lifting Heavy and getting plenty of rest are the 3 Commandments of Bodybuilding.

I've had the same problem for years and about 9 years ago i tried a cycle of NO2 and it gained me around 10 lbs of muscle mass that i was able to keep after i stopped working out and stoped taking it. I've always wanted to stay away from supplements and such things but its really hard to get results without it. NO2 seems to be the most natural way and it works great.

gaining weight is a caloric surplus. Take a few extra protein shakes after your meals. I also like adding some olive oil to my protein shakes. Some say it messes with the absorption and it probably is not optimal, but it's healthy calories that will pack on weight. Just make sure not to over do it.
