May or June is reasonable, but August? Champs fighting twice a year is boosheeet These long camps just give then more chance to get injured. They should fight now while still healthy!

This is why I hope this ranking system works. Get more people fighting, defending belts more often, no more fucking dropping in fight for a title fight bullshit. |

looks like Anderson and Cain have the memorial day weekend and july 4th weekend ppv slots so august is the earlierst. Actually the earliest slot would be UFC on fox 8 at the end of july but it looks like Aldo has broken through as a ppv draw so placing him on fox isnt necessary. Maybe mighty mouse or Ronda Rousy Headlines ufc on fox 8. I suspect Fox will be increasing it's fight nights to funnel more traffic to fs1... especially with the Female division and 115lb male division coming so champs will have more slots to defend their titles. we could see Fox moving from 4 to 6 or even 8 ufc fight nights a year.

MMALOGIC -I don't know why they are afraid of two titles fights on the same card or "wasting" Aldo on a Fox card. If they put him on a card in May they could STILL get that August fight potentially, if not then Sep or Oct. They would basically get both. The way to make more money is to do more title fights. making them so precious is not helpful. There have been plenty of complaints about weak cards recently so just stack them up and make them fight more often! If they are injured then fair enough but as far as anyone can tell Pettis and Aldo are 100% healthy. Btw I don't mean to shoot the messenger - I know you are just giving the Zuffa perspective.

They should put them on the Belcher-Bisping card. I just read that Bisping hasn't even started training yet. If Also wants two weeks off he can have them and still get in a solid training camp. They could do that and then have another Aldo fight and/or another Pettis fight in August anyway. Also there's a good change of a split decision and therefore rematch. When these guys are healthy Dana needs to push them to fight more often. Then they have the right to tell him to fuck off if they have to pull out of a fight at the last minute due to injury.
